LEDC Type ‘A’ held meeting last Friday

The Littlefield Economic Development Corporation Type A met at 12 p.m. on January 27th at the Littlefield Economic Development Corp. Type A Office, 206 W. 3rd St. for the purpose of considering all matters and related incidents to the City of Littlefield.

The meeting was called to order at 12:03 p.m. by President Joel Griffith. He also gave the invocation and Treasuer Gary Jones led the Pledge of Allegiance.

No one requested to comment during public comment on any agenda items.

Vice President Lori Zinn made a motion to approve the minutes from the Dec. 7, 2022, meeting and it was seconded by Jones. The motion passed unanimously.

Jones presented the financial report and Zinn made a motion to approve the financial report and it was seconded by Griffith. The motion passed unanimously.

Executive Director Michael Neighbors presented his report. Devin Sisk in cooperation with Kasey Cokker from the High Ground of Texas visited Littlefield and photographed area businesses for an upcoming publication. He had received two bids for cleanup of the properties recently purchased. The property should be rezoned from C-2 Commercial, General to M-1 Manufacturing/Industrial Light.

The next item on the agenda was to consider and approve direction on purchased land clean up and zoning request.

*Michael Neighbor explained he had received a bid for one property of $1,700 and $3,000 for another property for cleanup. Jones made the motion to approve the $4,700 plus $1,000 for cleanup of both properties and additional slab. The motion passed unanimously.

*Jones made the motion to request change of zoning from C2 to M-1 Manufacturing/Industrial Light and it was seconded by Griffith. The motion passed unanimously.

With no further business to discuss, President Griffith adjourned the meeting at 12:17 p.m.
