This Month we get to celebrate the greatest event in all of history! The resurrection of Jesus Christ. He was the God-Man who humbled himself by coming to earth, living a perfect life and dying on the cross, in our place, for our sins. And the Bible tells us in Acts 3:19, “Repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away.” The word repent means to change direction. Instead of running from God, we run toward Him & receive salvation.

Becoming a Christian is not merely believing some creed or going to church. It’s having Christ Himself take residence in your life and heart. Jesus said in Revelation 3, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in.” If you would like to have a relationship with Christ, simply pray this prayer and mean it in your heart: “Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and life. I confess You as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. Amen.”

Also, make sure you have a plan for church on March 31st. There are so many wonderful churches in Lamb County and I pray you find one to attend! Obviously you are welcome to join me at First Baptist Church Littlefield. At 9:30am we will have Bible Study classes for all ages. At 10:45am we will have an amazing Worship Service C. S. Lewis once said, “ If Christianity is false, it is of zero importance. But if it’s true, there is nothing more important.” There is overwhelming evidence that proves the resurrection to be an absolute fact. So be in Church this Sunday & rejoice, because Jesus is Risen!

Love You all, Pastor Tanner (Editor’s Note: This column is written by a different Littlefield pastor for the Leader-News each week. The columns are published on this page on Wednesdays.)
