4,470 COTTON BALES GINNED IN COUNTY—As of Friday noon, Oct. 16, 2020, a total of 4,470 bales of cotton had been ginned by four of Lamb County’s gins. This photo shows modules that were waiting on the yard at Spade Cooperative Gin Friday morning. Since the Spade Gin’s first bale was ginned Tuesday morning, Oct. 13, the Gin had ginned 209 bales, by Friday morning. The Springlake-Earth Cotton Growers gin was just cranking up Friday morning, Oct. 16. On Monday, Oct. 12, the Texas Producers Cooperative, Inc. at Sudan turned out its first bale at 3:07 p.m. Together, the Sudan and Amherst Gins have turned out a total of 861 bales. Olton Ag Producers has ginned a total of 3,400 bales since its first bale on Tuesday, Sept. 29, which credits the gin in Olton with ginning the first bale of cotton in Lamb County.
