Kyler and Cheyenna Todd opened LBK Printing Co. in August 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. The world saw an uptick in hobbies and crafting during that time, and the Todd family saw an opportunity.
I was sewing clothes as a side hustle and buying my fabrics online,” Cheyenna said. “I decided I would rather print my own fabric than buy bolts of it from another country. I knew other people that would like the opportunity to buy custom fabric printing from inside the U.S., so we decided to try making a business out of it.
After the pandemic ended and life settled back to normal, the Todds needed a way to differentiate themselves from their competi-tors. Kyler, whose family farms cotton in Hockley County, decided they needed to invest in equipment that would allow them to print custom orders onto cotton fabric. They developed the “Natural Roots” brand of their company and now own one of just six machines in the world that has the capability of printing custom uploads and other patterns directly onto fabrics made of natural fiber.
The ultimate dream would be to find a way to partner with West Texas cotton farmers where my company had the option to provide product sourced from West Texas cotton and made in the U.S.,” Kyler said. “There’s got to be a way to do that — I’m hoping that we will be able to make it happen.”
