Commissioners s handle long agenda Monday

Monday morning, Sept 28, the Lamb County Commissioners took care of the business from a nine-item agenda.

Lamb County Judge James M. DeLoach presided and called the meeting to order, after which he led the pledges to the U.S. and Texas flags.

No one made any comments regarding any of the agenda items, so the consent agenda items were considered for action.

Minutes approved

Minutes of the Sept. 14 were approved with no corrections.

There were no budget and salary amendments, and/or line-item transfers to be considered.

County Auditor’s bills

The County Auditor’s bills included: $96,066.78 for Lamb County, and $665,308.61 for Lamb Healthcare Center, for a total of $761,375.39 in bills to be ordered paid.

Payrolls ordered paid

Payrolls presented by the Lamb Country Treasurer included $145,483.84 for Lamb County and $173,695.68 for Lamb Healthcare Center.

Departmental Reports

The departmental reports that were received were approved as presented.

Workers’ Comp renewal

Lamb County Treasurer Jerry Yarbrough recommended the renewal of Lamb County’s Workers’ Compensation plan. It is due Sept. 30, but becomes effective in January.

Treasurer’s Quarterly Report

The treasurer reported there was not much money coming in for the Second Quarter of 2020, and that the interest was down this year.

Cyber training

Commissioners learned that the county’s elected officials and employees must be enrolled for Cyber Training, if they use the county’s computers in any way. The training is of no cost to the county.

$100 donation for Ag Center

Commisioners voted to approve the $100 donation, that was above the rental fee for the Lamb County Ag and Community Center.

Commissioners approved all of the consent agenda items in one vote.

Warren Computer Agreement

Commissioners approved the renewal of the county’s Remote Monitoring and Management Agreement with Warren Computers. The agreement was reviewed by Lamb County Attorney Scott A. Say, and found to be comparable to the last agreement.

Contract renewal

Commissioners discussed the renewal of the contract with Tyler Technologies, and voted to add Positive Pay to the county’s current software.

Surplus Election Poll equipment

Since the county has purchased new Election Poll Books, that are updated for upcoming elections, the old election poll books and carrying cases were declared surplus property.

Retainer Agreement approved

Commissioners voted to approve the Retainer Agreement with Allison Bass for negotiations for tax abatements for a new Solar Project in Lamb County.
