Commissioners hold special meeting

Monday morning, Oct. 5, 2020, Lamb County Commissioners conducted a special business meeting, dealing with six agenda items.

After the call to order by Judge James M. DeLoach, there was no one to make a comment concerning the agenda.

County’s bills ordered paid

Commissioners approved the payment of Lamb County Bills, in the amount of $355,862.96 presented by the County Auditor.

Caliche and hauling bids

Most of their time was spent on figuring the best bids for their precinct, for caliche and hauling, to be used for county road repair.

Only four bids were received.

Tony’s Oilfield Service received the bids from Precinct 3; and Wayne Copley Trucking received the bids from Commisioners of Precincts 1 and 2.

No bids on seal coating

No bids were received for seal coating in Precinct 4.

Buried water line

Commissioners approved a request from Larry Hobratschk for the burial of an irrigation water line in Precinct 4. The motion was made by Lee Logan and seconded by Danny Short, and the motion approved unanimously. Early voting reminder

Early voting reminder

Judge DeLoach reminded that early voting will begin Tuesday, Oct. 13. and close Friday, Oct. 30, from 8:30 to 5 p.m,. daily, in Littlefield at the Ag and Community Center; and in Olton at the Olton City Hall during those same hours.

Extended early voting days will be Oct. 19 and 20, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in both of the early voting polls.

On Election Day, Nov. 3, 2020, voting will be done in each of the communities at their assigned voting polls.
