Commissioners hold regular meeting Monday

The Commissioners Court of Lamb County met in regular session on Monday, April 8th, at the Lamb County Courhouse in Littlefield to discuss a nine-item agenda.

Lamb County Judge James DeLoach called the meeting to order and there was nobody present to speak during the public comment portion of the meeting.

Consent agenda items; (a) Consider and take appropriate action on minutes from previous meeting(s); Regular Meeting, March 25, 2024.

(b) Consider and take appropriate action on budget and salary amendments and/or line item transfers; None.

(c) Consider and take appropriate action on bills presented by the County Auditor; Gina Jones.

(d) Consider and take appropriate action on payroll; Terra Hopper.

(e) Consider and take appropriate action on departmental reports; In Packet.

The Motion was made by Commissioner Lee Logan and seconded by Commissioner Danny Short to approve the consent agenda items. The motion carried.

Item four on the agenda was a Presentation from Kathy Davenport of our Mid-Year Review on TAC-HEBP; Stacey Bruington, Wellness Consultant presented the Lamb County Executive Summary 2024, Mid-Year Review on TAC-HEBP.

The next order of business was to consider and take appropriate action on replacing a copier at the Sheriff’s Office.

The motion was made by Commissioner Cory DeBerry and seconded by Commissioner Logan to approve replacing a copier at the Sheriff’s Office. The motion carried.

The next item on the agenda wa to consider and take appropriate action on Commissary and Inmate Phone system Bids for Sheriff’s Office.

The motion was made by Commissioner Short and seconded by Commissioner Kent Lewis to approve the one bid received from Sterling Commissary, LLC on Commissary and Inmate Phone system for Sheriff’s Office, contingent upon review and approval from the Lamb County District Attorney. The motion carried.

Item seven on the agenda was to consider and take appropriate action to require a statement of no delinquent taxes when purchasing property during a Sheriff’s Sale.

The motion was made by Commissioner DeBerry and seconded by Commissioner Short to approve a statement of no delinquent taxes when purchasing property, during a Sheriff’s Sale, with clarification from Lamb County Appraisal District’s Office that the statement is required prior to the sale. The motion carried.

Future agenda items were discussed.

District Court Jury trial is cancelled.

Budget sessions begin soon.

Ag Barn has a small water leak that will be fixed Sudan JP 3 building is going up. With there being no further business to come before this Commissioners Court, the motion was made by Commissioner Logan and seconded by Commissioner Short to adjourn. The motion carried.
