Commissioners hold regular meeting Monday

The Commissioner’s Court of Lamb County met in regular session on Monday, July 17th at the Lamb County Courthouse to discuss a seven-item agenda.

Lamb County Judge James DeLoach called the meeting to order at 9 a.m. and no requested to comment during public forum.

The five Consent Agenda items to be considered are: a) Consider and take appropriate action on minutes from previous meeting( s); Regular Meeting, July 10, 2023. b) Consider and take appropriate action on budget and salary amendments and/or line-item transfers; none. c) Consider and take appropriate action on bills presented by the County Auditor; She requested bills be approved in the amount of $186,725.84. d) Consider and take appropriate action on payroll; None reported by Terra Hopper. e) Consider and take appropriate action on departmental reports; packets.

The motion to approve the consent agenda items was made by Commissioner Cory DeBerry and seconded by Commissioner Danny Short. The motion passed unanimously.

Item four on the agenda was Lamb Healthcare Operations; Cindy Pope was absent from the meeting, therefore this was not discussed.

Under future agenda Items, Judge DeLoach stated that there will not be a Commissioner’s Court meeting on July 24th, and that the next meeting will be on July 31st.

Item six on the agenda was Budget Work Session.

County Auditor, Gina Jones, stated that this being the first run through, she went through half of the Budget Work Notebook. Each department Head and Elected Official that was present commented on their individual Budgets.

With their being no further business to discuss the motion to adjourn was made by Commissioner Short and seconded by Commissioner DeBerry. The motion passed unanimously.
