Commissioners handle 10 item agenda Monday

The Lamb County Commissioners’ Court met for a regular business session Monday morning, Oct. 26, 2020, when they took care of a 10-item agenda, with Lamb County Judge James M. DeLoach presiding.

Three of the four commissioners, Cory DeBerry, of Precinct 1; Kent Lewis, Precinct 2; and Lee Logan, Precinct 4; were present, along with Tonya Ritchie, County Clerk and ex-officio Clerk of the Commissioners’ Court.

Judge DeLoach called the meeting to order, prior to leading the Pledges to the U.S. and Texas Flags.

ORDER NO.2: There was no one to made a comment on any of the agenda items.

ORDER NO. 3: The consent agenda items:

(a) Consider and take appropriate action on minutes from previous meeting(s); Regular Meeting: Oct. 13, 2020

(b) Consider and take appropriate action on budget and salary amendments and/or line item transfers: There were None

(c) Consider and take appropriate action on bills presented by the County Auditor: Gina Jones, revealed the amounts on the county and hospital.

(d) Consider and take appropriate action on payroll: Jerry Yarbrough, county treasurer revealed the payroll amounts that needed to be paid for the county and hospital.

(e) Consider and take appropriate action on departmental reports: Tje departmental reports that were in the commissioners’ packets were approved..

Motion was made by Commissioner Kent Lewis and seconded by Commissioner Lee Logan to approve the consent agenda items. The vote being called for and all voting Aye, the motion carried and so ordered.

ORDER NO 4: Consider and take appropriate action on The Center for Tech & Civil Life Grant awarded to Lamb County;

Motion was made by Commissioner Lee Logan and seconded by Commissioner Cory DeBerry to accept The Center for Tech & Civil Life Grant awarded to Lamb County in the amount of $13,485.00. The vote being called for and all voting Aye, the motion carried and so ordered.

ORDER NO 5: Consider and take appropriate action on 2021 Lamb County Holiday Schedule: Motion was made by Commissioner Kent Lewis and seconded by Commissioner Lee Logan to approve 2021 Lamb County Holiday Schedule. The vote being called for and all voting Aye, the motion carried and so ordered.

ORDER NO 6: Consider and take appropriate action on Road Work on Private Property in Precinct 4; Motion was made by Commissioner Lee Logan and seconded by Commissioner Kent Lewis to approve Road Work on Private Property in Precinct 4. The vote being called for and all voting Aye, the motion carried and so ordered.

ORDER NO 7: Consider and take appropriate action to advertise for bids on Seal Coating for Precinct 4; Motion was made by Commissioner Lee Logan and seconded by Commissioner Cory DeBerry to advertise for bids on Seal Coating for Precinct 4. The vote being called for and all voting Aye, the motion carried and so ordered.

ORDER NO 8: Public Hearing opened at 10:24 a.m. — Amherst and Olton EMS have requested a variance from the Texas Department of State Health Services to operate their Ambulances with one certified attendant while responding to and transporting patients;

Public hearing closed at 10:28 a.m.

ORDER NO 9: Future agenda items were discussed.

ORDER NO 10: Adjournment: There being no further business to come before this Commissioners’ Court, motion was made by Commissioner Lee Logan and seconded by Commissioner Kent Lewis to adjourn. The vote being called for and all voting Aye, the motion carried and so ordered.
