City Council meets to Canvass Election Results

The governing body of the City of Littlefield, Texas, met at 12 p.m. on Thursday, May 11th in special session at the City Council Chambers, 525 Phelps Avenue, for the purpose of considering all matters and related incidents to the City of Littlefield.

Mayor Eric Turpen called the meeting to order at 12 p.m. and Council Member Eric Saenz led the invocation. Mayor Turpen led the pledge of Allegiance.

Item number four on the agenda was to Consider and Approve Canvass of the Votes of the May 6, 2023, General Election and Resolution No. 2023-0511 Canvassing the Votes and Declaring the Results of the May 6, 2023, General Election to Fill a Two-Year Term for Mayor, District 3 and District 4.

Council Member Michael Rangel made the motion to approve the canvass and the Reso- lution No. 2023-0511 and it was seconded by Council Member Saenz. The motion passed unanimously.

The next order of business was the Presentation of Certificate of Election and Oath of Office for the Newly Elected Mayor and Council Members.

Item six on the agenda, was to consider and approve an Ordinance of the City of Littlefield, Texas, Closing, Abandoning and Vacating all of the following 10’ easement in the City of Littlefield, Lamb County, Texas: The 10’ easement in Block twenty-three (23) of the Crescent Park Addition more particularly described on Exhibit ‘A’, All of Which such 10’ easement is bordered by land owned by the requesting landowner.

Mayor Turpen made the motion to approve Ordinance No. 2023-0511 and it was seconded by Council Member Rangel. The motion passed unanimously.

With no further business to discuss, the meeting was Adjourned.
