News Writer The City of Amherst is seeking help to fill a big hole at the city park. The existing park playground equipment was determined unsafe and had to be torn down leaving a marked absence of activity for the young people of Amherst.
The city is seeking donations by check payable to City of Amherst Park Fund or cash which may be donated at the Amherst City Hall.
In addition, the City of Amherst will be holding a fundraising event during the Amherst Celebration on July 29, 2023. A Drawing will be held for a Custom Made Cornhole Board Set. The set is on display at the Amherst City Hall. All proceeds from the drawing will help purchase a new playground structure at the City Park.
Ticket prices are: $5 per ticket; $10 for 3 tickets; or $20 for eight tickets Tickets may be purchased at the Amherst City Hall. Call (806)2463421 with questions about the drawing.
