Ceci Schroeder has partnered FundstoOrgs.com to raise money to train her service dog, from Aug. 19 thru Oct. 18. She has currently raised around $8,000, just short of her goal og $12,000. She is already working with a dog trainer, Ray;ee Davos. out of Lubbock.

Although they are in the early stages of training, Gracie Mae is doing well; they are already going on her first field trip to Starbucks this Saturday.

Gracie Mae is being trained in stability, and be equipped with a vest and handle. Gracie will alert others if Ceci were to fall, help her get back up, and Gracie can also help with the very heavy equipment that Ceci needs to use. Gracie will assist Ceci with her independence as a young woman, since her parents will not always be there.

FundsToOrgs.com will pay Ceci on the weight of the shoes collected. She has collected over 70 bags; estimates are $1,000 for 100 bags (or 40 cents a pound). The shoes donated need to be gently worn to be accepted by FundsToOrgs. This organization is based out of Florida, and those shoes go to help start microbusinesses all over the world — for example, Haiti and Ukraine, to name a couple.

Ceci needs Gracie, especially since she will be attending college soon. She wants to major in Family Studies, as she plans is to enroll at South Plains College, then transfer to a University in Lubbock.
