Catholic Charities Diocese of Lubbock and SPCAA Community Action Host Family Services Event

    The SPCAA Community Action Center and the Catholic Charities Diocese of Lubbock corroborated to educate and bring some relief and answers to residents of the South Plains on Saturday, February 24, 2025 at the SPCAA Center located in Laguna Park in Littlefield, Texas.

    Sondra Okoruwa, the Family Engagement Specialist for the Catholic Charities provided pizza and the SPCCAA furnished the drinks.

    Ms. Okoruwa presented the program on Hygiene to the attendees. Following the program hygiene products and samples were distributed to those who attended. Laundry soap, toothpaste bath soap, general cleaning supplies, and deodorant, were distributed. Many products were “sample size” products that had been donated.

    Miranda Mirelez of the SPCCA reached out to the Catholic Charities Diocese after becoming aware of people contacting the SPCCA in need of assistance.

    When asked the reason for the calls for help, Ms. Mirelez responded that “these were working people who could not make ends meet after paying the bills”. For more information about the Catholic Charities Diocese of Lubbock, go to www.cclubbock.org.
