Body

There were 39 animals that were shown Thursday evening, for 4-H and FFA youngsters from Amherst, Littlefield and Sudan at the Littlefield Area Junior Livestock Show.

There were eight Dairy Heifers that started the show, while there were 15 other heifers, and 16 steers that were shown that first night.

Judging the Dairy Heifer show was John Kisst of Amarillo; and later, Zachary Wagoner of Pearland judged the Beef Heifers and Steers.

The Grand Champion Dairy Heifer was a Jersey, exhibited by Ava Van de Pol; while the Reserve Grand Champion Dairy Heifer was a Holstein heifer, shown by Kalissa Harris.

Jose Fierro of Amherst was selected for the Junior Dairy Showmanship Award buckle; and Jackie Fierro of Amherst was chosen to receive the Senior Dairy Showmanship award buckle.

In the Beef Heifer Division, Braelyn Pointer exhibited the Grand Champion Heifer, and Piper Carr showed the Reserve Grand Champion Beef Heifer.

The Junior Beef Showmanship Award Buckle was presented to Ty Carr; and Kennadi Hanlin received the Senior Beef Showmanship Award. Those awards were given for showmen in both of the Beef divisions, the Heifers and Steers.

Class 1, A.B.C. Heifers: 1. Kauy Carr of Sudan 4-H.

Class 2, British:: 1. Piper Carr, (breed Champ) 2. Maggie McNeese, Lfd FFA; 3. Ky Hays, Lfd FFA; and 4. Magggie McNeese, Lfd 4-H.

Class 3. British: 1. Ty Carr, (Reserve breed champ) 2. Ryan Muller; 3. Maggie McNeese; and 4. Grant Muller.

Class 4, British: 1. Garicyn Bigham, Sudan 4-H.

Class 5. Exotic: 1. Piper Carr, Lfd 4-H, (reserve breed champ and Reserve Grand Champion); 2. Ky Hays, Lfd FFA; and 3, Ty Carr, Lfd 4-H.

Class 6. Exotic: 1. Braelyn Pointer (breed champ and Grand Champion); 2. Ky Hays, Lfd FFA.
