AREA ATHLETES MEDAL AT STATE TRACK MEET

TWICE IS NICE – Springlake-Earth freshman, Taytum Goodman, brought home the gold medal in both the Women’s 800-meter run and the 1,600-meter run, clocking times of 2:17.45 and 5:06.78 to break the State Record in both events on Saturday. She also took third place in the 400-meter dash, finishing with a time of 1:00.34, at the 1A State Track Meet at the University of Texas at Austin.

STATE CHAMPION – Sudan senior, Lane Wilson brought home the gold medal in the Men’s 110-meter hurdles on Friday at the 2A State Track Meet at the University of Texas at Austin, clocking a time of 14.73 to become the 2A Boy’s State Champion in the event. 

SECOND PLACE – Olton senior, Jack Allcorn, brought home the silver medal in the Men’s Discus on Friday at the 2A State Track Meet at the University of Texas at Austin. Allcorn finished with a throw of 175’4”.

THIRD PLACE – Springlake-Earth Sophomore, Braxton Ethridge, brought home the bronze medal in the Men’s 300-meter hurdles on Saturday, clocking a time of 40.56. He also took fifth place in the 110- meter hurdles at the 1A State Track Meet at the University of Texas at Austin. 

THIRD PLACE – Springlake-Earth junior, Trace Goodman, brought home the bronze medal in the Men’s 400-meter dash on Saturday, clocking a time of 50.22, at the 1A State Track Meet at the University of Texas at Austin.
