Application to appear on general election ballot ends Feb. 14th

As of Jan. 15, the application to appear on the general elec-tion ballot is open until Feb. 14 at 5 p.m.

Representatives of Districts 3 and 4, two independent school board positions and the mayoral candidate are eligible for election. District 3 and 4 candidates must live in the respective districts to remain eligible for the positions.

Additionally, voters can only participate in the elections of their respective districts.

The mayoral and two school board positions are at-large candidates, meaning any resident can vote or run for said positions, regardless of their residence.

Interested applicants may pick up the ballot forms from City Secretary Neil Gonzalez at 301 XIT Dr. Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Inside the application is information about the positions, a city charter, the election calendar, campaign finance reporting, and additional materials that Gonzalez will review once the deadline approaches.

Early voting occurs at 301 XIT Dr. on April 21 and continues through the 29. Voters may cast their ballot Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Election Day is Saturday, May 3, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the City Council Chambers.
