Amherst is gearing up for their annual celebration on Saturday, July 29, 2023. This year the community is celebrating their Centennial. The city has released the schedule for the celebration.
The Parade down Main Street will begin at 10 a.m.
The Park Celebration will begin at 11 a.m. and will last until 11 p.m. There will be food and drink vendors, game vendors, and merchandise vendors for the duration.
Day Entertainment begins at 11 a.m. and will run until 5 p.m.
Sign ups for Tournaments will begin at 11:15 am. There will be Corn Hole, Volleyball, Pickleball, and the always competitive Children’s Tractor Pull.
An Auction benefiting the Amherst Independent School District Athletics will begin at 2 p.m. and run until 3 p.m.
The Dance will begin at 8 p.m. until 11 p.m.
The Grand Prize Raffle of a Zero Turn John Deere Lawn Mower will close the celebration at 11 p.m. with the announcement of the winner. The winner need not be present to win. Tickets went on sale June 15, 2023 and are available at Amherst City Hall, Pivot Parts and Service, and any Amherst Chamber Board member.
