The Lamb County Library is proud to introduce Ambrosia Simpson, the new Assisstant Librarian. She resides in Littlefield with her husband, David Simpson, who is employed by Monkey Business Remodeling. They have a six-year-old daughter.

Mrs. Simpson briefly lived in Lubbock and Littlefield, but spent most of her young life in Sudan, Texas. At Sudan High School she participated in track and cross country. She also participated in academic competitions. The Speech and Debate team tournaments were “really fun for her”. She also competed in Theater Arts. She stated that she loved acting. She graduated from Sudan High School in 2016. She attended San Angelo State University where she was considering a degree in Theater Arts, but decided to returned home to Sudan.

Ambrosia had volunteered at the library for a good while and loved the activities provided for the youth of Lamb County. She really likes the “Teen Nights” which offers entertaining activities for teens. When Mrs. Schroeder made the decision to leave the library, she suggested that Ambrosia might apply for the position.

Ambrosia stated that “it is a pleasant job and much more work than she thought, and in her opin- ion, there is no better place that she could work while raising a young daughter than the Lamb County Library.”As a young girl, she was an avid reader starting out with Young Adult Novels, but working in the library provided new interests such as history. She believes the public library provides a good opportunity for reading which, in turn, can open up new interests that spark a reader’s curiosity and encourages learning. She is really excited about the activities and upcoming events planned by the Lamb County Library. Currently, the library’s staff is upgrading some of the furnishings in the library. She also mentioned updating the Juvenile Non-Fiction section. They look forward to the Magic Tree House book series coming. The library will be incorporating STEM kits which be available in the near future. She suggests patrons of the library also explore the Libby App for online access to reading materials. Patrons of the Lamb County Library who have an account with the library also have access to computers that are available. Two new Listening Stations have been added as well.

But first and foremost, Teen Night activities began on Thursday, October 5th. Teen night is hosted by the library on the 1st and 4th Thursdays of the month.

The Library will also have a booth at the Pumpkin Trail at Crescent Park 6:30-8:30, OCTOBER 21st!
