On Wednesday, May 10, 2023, the Littlefield Primary Staff hosted a retirement party for Mrs. Nancy Davis at the Littlefield Primary gym. More than 60 guests including family members, friends and former students gathered to celebrate her 40 years of dedicated service to the children of Littlefield.

Peggy Robison welcomed the guests and expressed the gratitude of those present to Mrs. Davis for her steady dedication to all the children who passed through her door. and then passed the microphone to Mrs. Davis so she could say a few words.

She taught in two different buildings and had seen many changes in the personnel over the years, but she stated that it is important to remember our children are a gift from God and we need to “make sure the little ones feel they are loved, and encourage them to embrace learning.” She did that consistently during her career. However, there were times she shared that she wondered if she had succeeded a bit too well. There was one young boy who wanted to learn what it was like to ride the school bus...so he did with a friend, throrugh the entire route and back to school. Another student who had misbehaved and was sent to the office decided to declare that Mrs. Davis ought to be fired. Thankfully she was not fired, and the many people who gathered to wish her a happy retirement was her testament of success.

Nancy was presented with a beautiful cake which boldly stated “After 40 years you are finally getfication ting out of Kindergarten”. A cafeteria table was strewn with the photographs of all her kindergarten classes. She received many gifts commemorating her last year of teaching. Above all, she was blessed with the presence of her extended family, her fellow educators, and many people who wish her great happiness in her retirement.
