As of Friday morning, Jan. 21, 2022, a survey of the five Lamb County gins reported they have turned out a combined total of 243,744 bales of cotton for the 2021 cotton crop year.
All of them have completed their ginning seasons.
The Amherst and Sudan gins that are merged as the Texas Producers Cooperative, have ginned a total of 98,917 bales for the year.
The Springlake-Earth Cotton Growers’ Gin at Springlake, completed its year’s ginning on Dec. 16, 2021, when it had ginned 10,528 bales.
The Skyland Cotton Gin at Olton, which is merged with a Plainview gin, had together ginned a total of 89,635 bales when they finished on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022.
The Spade Coop Gin finished its ginning season on Friday, Jan. 14, 2022, after their year’s total came to 44,664 bales.
