The 2021 Littlefield Area Jr. Livestock Show and Sale for 4-H and FFA youngsters is now history, with a total of 103 animals auctioned by Guyle Roberson, to end the show Saturday afternoon.

Judging of the show began at 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon with Dennis Pate of New Home judging the Ag Mechanics projects.

Other show judges were Preston Lawrence of Canyon, Beef cattle and swine shows; Landry Veith of Windthorst, dairy cattle; and Joel Lanier of Seminole, lambs and goats.

Taking the grand championship honor of the Ag Mechanics division was Cash Hardin of Sudan, with his portable sorting pen and loading alley; while Kaley Bates of Littlefield won the reserve grand championship title with a swing seat.

For Group Ag mechanics projects, Turner Heffington and Cade Doty of Littlefield FFA won grand champion with their fire pit; while the reserve grand champion group project was won by J.J. Soria, Jordan Trevino and Jaron Cabello.

Animal judging at 5 p.m.

At 5 p.m., Preston Lawrence team coach at West Texas State University at Canyon, began judging the beef heifers. The grand champion beef heifer was shown by Ty Carr of Lamb County 4-H; while the reserve grand champion heifer, an Exotic was won by Kauy Carr of Sudan.

For the steer division, Kannadi Hanlin of Littlefield showed the grand champion; while Braelyn Pointer of Sudan, took the reserve grand champion steer award.

The Beef Showmanships were: Junior: Piper Carr and Senior: Gus McNabb.

The Dairy Heifer Division was judged by Landry Veith of Windthorst. Jacey Carpenter’s dairy heifer took the grand championship title; while Anneke Vand de Pol’s heifer won the reserve grand champion honor.

Dairy Heifer showmahsips went to Senior: Jackie Fierro; and Junior: Sam Lawrence.

FRIDAY’S JUDGING

At 8 a.m. Friday morning, Joel Lanier of Seminole began judging the goat show. Taking the grand champion goat title was Drew Carr’s Lamb County 4-H project goat; while Kauy Can of Sudan showed the reserve grand champion goat for her Lamb County 4-H project.

The goat showmanships went to: Senior: Drew Cam and Junior: Kauy Cam.

Joel Lanier also judged the lamb division of the show. Taking the grand champion lamb was Kyndal Edwards’ Sudan FFA project; while Kooper Edwards’ Sudan FFA lamb took the reserve grand championship.

Lamb showmanships were won by: Senior: Kyndal Edwards; and Junior: Kooper Edwards.

Preston Lawrence of Canyon also judged the lengthy swine division. Braelyn Pointer’s Cross 4-H project won the grand champion swine title; while Westin Brashear’s Sudan FFA project took the reserve grand swine title.

The swine showmanship honors went to: Senior: Brindle Harper of the Littlefield 4-H; and Junior: Emry Humphreys of the Sudan FFA.

After the swine show, the Pee Wee Showmanship was done for the little ones who are too young to enter the show. They chose a pig to practice showing (who were helped with an older person) and each of them received a participation ribbon.
