KEVIN GARCIA-TORRES ValedictorianKevin Garcia Torres, the Valedictorian of Amherst High School, is the son of Gustavo Garcia and Janeth Torres.He plans to attend South Plains College for welding.His favorite subjects in school were math, English, Spanish, technology and agriculture.
LIVIO CONTRERAS Livio Contreras, a graduate of Amherst High School, is the son of Ninfa Ortega and Livio Contreras. He plans to work to save and provide for his family. His favorite subjects in school were technology, agriculture and algebra I and II. The organizations Contreras belonged to included UIL, One Act Play and FFA as an officer and member.

Speech students head to Iowa

This past weekend, Feb. 22, 2025, at Monterey High School in Lubbock, seven Sudan High School students competed in the National Speech and Debate Association district tournament against 1A through 6A schools from Midland/Odessa to the top of the Panhandle.

The Littlefield Junior High School released the Honor Rolls for the first six weeks of the second semester.“A” HONOR ROLL Seventh Grade:Ian Mata, Jaden Winters and Kaden Winters.Eighth Grade:Jacob Fuentes, Melany Marquez, Nayeli Mata and Chanel Salinas.
