The Wallace Theater will close out its inaugural season with two dynamic programs, offering shows to appeal to all audiences: an inspiring lecture from world-renowned scientist Dr. Temple Grandin and an evening of laughter featuring well-known comedian Turner Sparks with hometown favorite Aryn Corley.
Dr. Grandin will share her personal story, along with insights into livestock handling and autism, on Friday, April 10, and will also sign copies of her books that evening.
On Friday, April 17, both comedians take the stage for a night of laughter that will appeal to all ages.
“We’re proud to close out our first season with two events that reflect the range of programming at the Wallace,” said Executive Director Alycyn Keeling. “From an inspiring lecture by one of the world’s most respected scientists to a night of laugh-out-loud entertainment, these performances highlight our commitment to offering quality shows for all fans.”
Dr. Grandin, a world-renowned animal scientist, autism advocate, and bestselling author, will deliver an engaging and thought-provoking presentation. Known for revolutionizing livestock handling practices and advancing public understanding of autism, Grandin brings a unique perspective shaped by her life experience as both a scientist and an individual on the autism spectrum.
“I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the Wallace Theater in Levelland,” Grandin shared. “I will discuss different kinds of thinking. I am a visual thinker. Most visual thinkers are very good at mechanics and working with animals. We must ensure that visual thinkers are not screened out of mechanical jobs due to their lack of mathematical skills.
Turner Sparks, recently named a “Comic to Watch” by the New York Comedy Festival, will deliver a highenergy stand-up show the following week, joined by local favorite Aryn Corley.
Turner’s comedy blends hilarious personal stories with insights from his global travel. Aryn’s quick wit and hometown charm always brings the house down, and together the two will deliver a night of guaranteed big laughs.
Sparks adds, “I love The Wallace! Last time I was there, we performed on a rented stage in a concrete shell of a building, and we still had the Mayor and Chief of Police of Levelland show up. The entire police force was there too! In hindsight it really was the best night in Levelland’s history to rob a bank.”
Tickets both events can be purchased at the Wallace Theater website or by calling the Wallace at 806-523-8773. Tickets for Dr. Grandin on April 10 are $46. Tickets to see Sparks and Corley on April 17 are $30.54 - $56.80.
