Do you know what the Holy Spirit represents?
It is a solid proof to believers that Jesus is indeed alive as before Jesus went to the Cross, He promised us of the Holy Spirit living within us, the Holy Spirit will be our guide in everything and we won't be alone. The Holy Spirit is our helper - 'But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.' John 14:26.
What a promise to us!!! We as His believers therefore will live with confidence that His Holy Spirit is living within us now. We are never alone. It is a testimony about Jesus. He has done what He has promised us. That is also why we as believers shall have good hope! 'May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope' in Romans 15:13. Also, in Romans 5:5 says this, 'And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.'
How often do we rely on the Holy Spirit? Do not forget the Holy Spirit is there to assist us for when we do not know how to pray and what to pray for. If we listen intently to the voice of God, the Holy Spirit will speak truths to us as well. Just that we need to maintain a balance of listening and talking to God. I personally did too much talking in the past and now I am learning to listen more and as I spent the time to listen, I started to hear His gentle and affirming voice over me. How beautiful to hear the voice of my God speaking gently over me!
No wonder Jesus was saying to His disciples at the Passover table, it is good for Him to go away that the Holy Spirit could dwell and be with His beloved disciples, it was all for their benefits and Jesus seated next to God up in Heaven not to enjoy Himself there. Jesus was there interceding for all His believers. Hebrews:7:25 says this, ' Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.'
How comforting to know that our Lord Jesus has always been interceding for us!! What an assurance of His great love for us believers.
Thanks be to God! Let us draw near to God today, listen to His voice and give thanks to His promised Holy Spirit. Amen.
