Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Hicks of Lubbock, formerly of Alpharetta, GA, are the parents of the bride. Mrs. Dona Richardson and the late George Richardson Jr. of Lubbock, formerly of Littlefield, are the groom’s parents.

Hailey’s grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Joe Michalka of Lubbock and the late Mrs. Sue Shoesmith of Denton and Charles Hicks of Midland. Taylor’ s grandparents are Mrs. Majora Davis and the late Leroy Davis of Littlefield and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Richardson, Sr. of Snyder.

For her wedding, Hailey chose a Pronovias gown of white crepe that featured a jewel neckline and long sleeves on the fitted bodice and a formal-length hem that swept into a long train at the back of the gown. Covered buttons accented the sleeves and the back of the gown. She wore her mother’s veil and carried a blue garter which was made by her great grandmother, Mrs. Mary Michalka, in her bouquet of white and mulberry flowers and greenery.

The groom wore a charcoal tuxedo, white shirt, and powder gray bow tie.

The wedding party stood before the beautiful stained glass window in the chapel, and urns of white and mulberry-colored flowers and greenery and two candelabras flanked the window. A special floral arrangement, including his cowboy hat, was made in memory of Taylor’s Dad, George Richardson, Jr.

Mrs. Emily Crawford Hicks, of Chattanooga, TN, was her sister-in-law’s matron of honor. Miss Maria Martinides and Miss Cara Floum, both of Atlanta, GA, were the bride’s maids. They wore formal, long-sleeved gowns of mulberry with a lace, jeweled bodice and chiffon skirt and carried bouquets of white and mulberry flowers and greenery. After the ceremony, they wore fur capes to complete their outfits.

Nathan McKinnon of Littlefield was the best man. Groomsmen were Luke Richardson, brother of the groom from Lubbock, Huston Hicks, brother of the bride from Chattanooga, TN, and Scott Green, cousin of the groom from Lubbock. They wore charcoal tuxedos, white shirts, and powder gray ascots.

Musical selections were performed by Maestro David Cho on the piano and by Galen Wixson on the cello.

Following the wedding, a reception and dinner were held in the Salle de David. The guests dined on all of the groom’s favorites: chicken fried steak, grilled chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, salad, and cheese rolls. Later, they were served wedding cake, a four-tiered chocolate cake filled with fresh raspberries and covered in white butter cream icing and accented with fresh flowers. The cake was topped with a special, vintage bride and groom that were used on the cakes of groom’s maternal grandparents and parents. The groom’s s’mores cake was made in the shape of a tire with a Ford Mustang emblem on the top.

Wedding photos of the couple’s parents and grandparents were placed on a memory table. Guests also enjoyed a coffee bar and photo booth until they held sparklers to light the path as the couple made their exit into a vintage Rolls Royce limousine. The couple will honeymoon in Fredericksburg and are planning a trip to an island destination at a later date.

Hailey is a graduate of Centennial High School in Alpharetta, GA, and of the University of Georgia. Taylor is a graduate of Littlefield High School and of Texas Tech University. They will make their home in Lubbock.
