Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
Mark 11:24 ESV Prayer is an intrinsic part to trusting in the power of God’s preeminence. The Book of Joshua, the Lord gave the Amorites over to the sons of Israel. What happened was not a make believe science fiction fantasy. Nothing is impossible with God! Only the Creator of our universe could make “The sun stand still, and the moon to stop until Israel took vengeance on their enemies.” When Joshua spoke to the Lord, (Joshua 10:12-14) he knew God’s promise for them to ‘go and conquer.’
In our mind, we see obstacles in the way of our needs. But there is no temptation or barrier that God cannot remove to fulfill our concern. My favorite verses on hope come from Romans 8:24-25, ‘For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.’ There are many past concerns I have witnessed the power of God’s presence at work to do… what only HE can do.
Twice we witnessed God build ‘walls of water ‘as it were. When God parted the Red Sea for Israel to escape the Egyptian army. The second time, when Joshua instructed the priests to take up the arc of the covenant and pass before the people, and step in the Jordan. What occurred were two walls of water for Israel to pass through on dry land.
(Joshua 3:14-17) When asking, there are instances if what we ask are not God’s will, or for His honor, I too, have received a “NO” answer. But that never stopped me in the past, nor will it ever stop me now, trusting God for my future.
Father, thank you for teaching me to believe what I will receive.
