The Lamb County Grand Jury for 154 th District Court met Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022, and returned nine indictments.
Of those, seven of those who were indicted have been arrested, while two of them have not been arrested and their names may not be published.

The State of Texas vs: Julian Rangel Esquibel, 39 of Littlefield, was indicted on the charge of Possession of Controlled Substance PG 1/1-B <1G

The GRAND JURY, for the County of Lamb, State of Texas, duly selected, empaneled, sworn, charged, and organized as such at the January Term A.D., 2022 of the 154th Judicial District Court for Lamb County, upon their oaths present in and to said court of said term that: Julian Rangel Esquibel, Hereinafter styled Defendant, on or about the 10 th day of October, 2021, and before the presentment of this indictment, in the County and State aforesaid, did: then and there intentionally and knowingly possess a controlled substance, namely Methamphetamine, in an amount of less than one gram Against the peace and dignity of the state.
Bond has been set at $3,500.
The State of Texas vs: Jorge Gonzalez, 54, of Sudan. was indicted on the charge of Evading Arrest and Detection with a Vehicle.
THE GRAND JURY, for the County of Lamb, State of Texas, duly selected, empaneled, sworn, charged, and organized as such at the January Term A.D., 2022 of the 154 th Judicial District Court for Lamb County, upon their oaths present in and to said court at said term that: Jorge Gonzalez, Hereinafter styled defendant, on or about the 22 nd day of November, 2021, and before the presentment of this indictment, in Lamb County and State of Texas aforesaid, did: then and there, while using a vehicle, intentionally flee from a person the defendant knew was a peace officer, who was attempting lawful to arrest or detain the defendant; Against the Peace and dignity of the State.
Bond was set at $5,000.
The State of Texas vs: Rene Villegas, 33, of Dimmitt was in-ed on the charge of Unlawfully Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.
The GRAND JURY, for Lamb County and the State of Texas, duly selected, empaneled, sworn, charged, and organized as such at the January Term A.D. 2022 of the 154 th Judicial District Court for Lamb County, upon their oaths present in and to said court at said term that: Rene Villegas Hereinafter styled Defendant, on or about the 30 th day of October, 2021, and before the presentment of this indictment, in Lamb County and the State of Texas aforesaid, did: then and there, having been convicted of the felony offense of Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1, 4-200 grams, on the 30 th day of August, 2018, in cause number A3948-1806 in the 64 th District Court of Castro County, Texas, did intentionally and knowingly posses a firearm before the fifth anniversary of the defendant’s release from supervision under mandatory supervision following conviction of the felony. And it is further presented that, prior to the commission of the charged offense, on the 23 rd day of July, 2012, in Cause number 2723A in the 287 th District Court of Bailey County, Texas, the defendant was finally convicted of the felony offense of Burglary of Habitation; Against the Peace and Dignity of the State.

The State of Texas vs: Derek Tovar, 38, of Lubbock was indicted on a charge of Driving While Intoxicated, 3 rd or more.
THE GRAND JURY, for the County of Lamb, State of Texas, duly selected, empaneled, sworn, charged, and organized as such at the January Term A.D. 2022 of the 154 th Judicial District Court for Lamb County, upon their oaths present in and to said court of said term that: Derek Tovar, 38, of Lubbock, Hereinafter styled Defendant, on or about the 23 rd day of October, 2021, and before the presentment of this indictment, in the County and State aforesaid, did: then and there operate a motor vehicle in a public place while the defendant was intoxicated;
Jurisdictional Enhancements And it is further presented that prior to the commission of the charged offense (hereafter styled the primary offense), on the 4 th day of March, 2010, in cause number 16002 in the County Court of Lamb County, the defendant was convicted of an offense relating to the operating of a motor vehicle while intoxicated;
And on the 11 th day of March, 2019, in cause number CCR-17616, in the County Court of Lamb County, Texas, the defendant was convicted of an offense relating to the operating of a motor vehicle while intoxicated; against the peace and dignity of the State. Bond was set at $5,000.
The State of Texas vs: Angel Luis Escamilla, 20, of Littlefield, was indicted on a charge of Possession of Controlled Substance PG 1/1-B, Health and Safety Code.
In the name and by the authority of the State of Texas: The Grand Jury, for the County of Lamb, State of Texas, Duly selected, empaneled, sworn, charged and organized as such at the January Term A.D. 2022 of the 154 th Judicial District Court for said County, upon their oaths present in and to said court at said term that: Aneel Luis Escamilla, Hereinafter styled Defendant, on or about the 30 th day of August, 2021, and before the presentment of this indictment, in the County and State aforesaid, did: then and there intentionally and knowingly possess a controlled substance, namely methamphetamine, in an amount of less than one gram; against the peace and dignity of the state.
Bond was set at $4,500.
