Martha Perez Carabajal, 59, of Lubbock and a lifetime resident of Olton, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021, in Lubbock, TX. Rosary was said Sunday evening, Oct. 10, 2021, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Olton. Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 11, 2021, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, with Fr. Martin Pena officiating. Interment followed at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.
Martha was born Feb. 17, 1962, in Olton, TX, to Ebodio and Amelia (Cordero) Perez. She graduated from Olton High School in 1980 and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in education from Wayland Baptist University. A teacher for over 30 years, Martha retired in 2021 from Littlefield ISD and was named Teacher of the Year for 2020-21. Martha was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Lubbock. Reading, watching movies, and dancing were some of her favorite things to do. She enjoyed sewing and made many blankets and pillows.
