Nolberta Rivera Almanza, 90, of Littlefield and formerly of Olton, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2026.
Rosary was recited Thursday evening, March 12, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Olton. Mass was celebrated Friday morning, March 13, with Fr. Alex Ambrose officiating. Interment followed at Olton Cemetery.
Nolberta was born June 6, 1935, in Pecos, TX, to Antonio and Modesta (Gomez) Rivera. She married Pablo F. Almanza, sharing more than 50 years together. Nolberta settled in Olton in 1948 and moved to Littlefield in 2001. She worked in farm labor, was a devoted homemaker, and a strong prayer warrior. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Olton and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Littlefield, a cursillista, guadalupana, and former president of the Guadalupanas. Nolberta enjoyed quilting, embroidery, gardening, and cooking. She and her husband were instrumental in Olton’s Diez y Seis de Septiembre celebrations.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include two sons; three daughters; one brother; four sisters; 12 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
