Darrell Ray Montgomery, 53, of Olton, TX, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2025, in Lubbock. Memorial services were held Thursday afternoon, Dec. 11, 2025, at Olton Methodist Church, with Pastor Kyle Brock officiating and under the care of Ramage Funeral Directors.
Darrell was born Sept. 16, 1972, in Jacksonville, TX, to Charles and Dell (Gore) Montgomery. He was a lifelong cowboy and worked as a general contractor building barndominiums for 4M Construction. He married Ginger Bailey on Aug. 26, 1995.
Darrell enjoyed carpentry and was known as a handyman. He liked working cattle, spending time at the feedyard, and breaking horses. In his spare time, he enjoyed being with friends, playing cards, watching old John Wayne movies, and reading Louis L’Amour books.
He was preceded in death by his father and by a brother. Survivors include his wife; two sons; his mother; a brother; and a sister and brother-in-law. He is also survived by two special friends along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
