In Loving Memory Of Myrtle 'Mutt' Hanna

Myrtle "Mutt" Hanna, 93, of Sudan, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, in Amherst, Texas. She was born on January 4, 1932, in Denton, Texas to Ira and Bertha Legg. She married Billy Hanna on June 29, 1950, in Clovis, New Mexico.
Mutt was a talented interior and exterior painter, and at texturing walls and applying wallpaper. She enjoyed quilting and canning fresh, local vegetables. She was a strong woman, and an excellent mother and caretaker. She was Den Mother while her boys were in Boy Scouts, and she loved attending events for her children and grandchildren whenever she could. She was a Sudan Senior Citizens member and a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Sudan, Texas where she helped with V.B.S for many years.
Those left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Larry Hanna and wife, Judy of Monahans, Texas, and Matt Hanna of Sudan, Texas; her daughter, Francis Gray of Lubbock, Texas; seven grandchildren, Don, Stephanie, Donnie, Wendy, Shad, Kurt and Robin; and fourteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Hanna; a son in-law, Dwayne Gray; a daughter in-law, Terri Hanna; a brother; and five sisters.
Funeral Services were held Monday afternoon, April 21, 2025, at the First Baptist Church in Sudan, Texas with Pastor Mike Woods officiating. Interment followed in the Sudan Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made to Sudan EMS/Fire Department (100 Hornet Dr., Sudan, Texas 79371).
Arrangements were under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield, Texas.
