The Homecoming Queen candidates for 2023 were introduced at the Homecoming Pep Rally held at the Littlefield Wildcat gym on Friday, September 8, 2023.
The candidates for this year were Amiah Mercedes Elizondo, Julie-Ann Marie Bownds, and Kennadi Grace Hanlin. The Flower Girl was Kyndel Brielee Foley and the Crown Bearer was Travis McKinnon.
Amiah Elizondo is the 17-year old daughter of Carlos and Teresa Elizondo. She has two younger sisters, Monica is as junior at Littlefield High School, and Emma is a fourth grader at Littlefield Elementary. Amiah is the granddaughter of Frank and Matilda Elizondo and Mary Martinez. Amiah transferred to the Littlefield Public Schools her eighth grade year.
Amiah has received the Chamber of Commerce award for three years and was inducted into the National Honor Society as a Junior, where she is a representative. Amiah has been a member of student Council for the past two years, a member of the varsity basketball team since she was a sophomore, a member of the varsity volleyball team her senior year, and varsity track her sophomore year, where she advanced to area in the mile relay and has received Academic All-District the past two years and Honorable Mention last year in Basketball. Amiah has been in the top 10% of her class throughout high school. After graduation, she plans to attend Texas Tech University and pursue a career in the medical field. She expressed her gratitude to the Wildcat Varsity Football Team on her nomination as a homecoming queen candidate, and wishes the Wildcats the best of luck this season. She was escorted by her father, Carlos Elizondo.
Julie-Ann Marie Bownds is the 17-year old daughter of Michael and Kelly Bownds, the granddaughter of Pam and Casey Bownds and Mitchell Cody, and the great-granddaughter of Royce and Billie Cody and Bill and Sug Dendy. She has two younger brothers who both attend Littlefield ISD. Jonathan who is a Freshman, and Joshua who is an eighth grader.
Julie-Ann has been attending Littlefield ISD since pre-K. She participates in Student Council and National Honor Society, serving as the secretary for both organizations as well as the secretary for the Class of 2024. Julie has been playing Volleyball for 7 years and has been a part of the Lady Cat Varsity Volleyball Team for 3 years. She has also been playing tennis for 6 years and has been on Varsity for 3 years. Julie is a proud member of the Crescent Park Church of Christ in Littlefield. After High School Julie’s plan is to attend Lubbock Christian Univer-sity and major in biology with a minor in criminology. She expressed her thanks to God for the many blessings bestowed on her as well as her family for always supporting her and a big thanks to the many friends she has made in the Littlefield ISD throughout the years. Last, but not least, she expressed her thanks to the Wildcat Varsity Football Team for nominating her as a Homecoming Candidate and wishes them a safe and promising season.

Kennadi Grace Hanlin is the 17year old daughter of Cary and Carrie Hanlin. She has an older sister, Kambri, and an older brother, Karson Hanlin, that also attended Littlefield High School. She is the granddaughter of Sheila Hanlin and Darlene Diersing.
Kennadi has had the privilege of being a Varsity Wildcat Cheerleader all four years of High School where she was selected as All-American and received the Dynamic Leader Award her senior year. She has been a member of the Varsity Basketball team for three years and she was selected as District Newcomer of the Year her sophomore year. She received the Fighting Heart Award her junior year as well as All-District Honors. Kennadi has also been a member of the Varsity Volleyball Team for three years and has received the Fighting Heart Award and the Fighting Heart Award her junior year. She has been a member of the Lady Cat Varsity track team for three years where she has advanced to the Regional Track meet each year. Kennadi is a member of the National Honor Society and Student Council. She is currently serving as Student Council President and Senior Class President.
She was selected as Sweetheart for the Early Riser’s Lions Club and is also a member of the Littlefield 4-H Club where she has successfully shown cattle across the state of Texas for the last four years. Kennadi is a faithful member of the Crescent Park Church of Christ. She plans to attend Angelo State University and major in Ag Business, Kennadi expressed her thanks, first of all, to God for all the blessings in her life, and last but certainly not least, the Littlefield Wildcats for nominating her as a home coming queen candidate. There is nothing that makes her more proud than being a LITTLEFIELD WILDCAT, and wished them good luck!

Kyndel Brielee Foley is the seven year old daughter of Tanner and Melissa Foley. Tanner is a Littlefield Ex-Student, Class of 2011 and Melissa is a Littlefield Ex-Student, Class of 2010. She is the granddaughter of Mike and Sandra Cristan of Littlefield, Terri and Sherri Highfill of Runaway Bay and the late Dan Foley of Littlefield. Kyndel is a second grader at Littlefield Primary. Her favorite subject is art. Kyndel’s favorite sport is basketball. She is a member of the 55 Buckets basketball program. She enjoys time at the lake, attending Texas Tech sporting events, and getting her nails done. When she grows up, she wants to be basketball coach for the Texas Tech Lady Raiders. Kyndel thanked the Littlefield Ex-Student Association for selecting her to be a part of Homecoming and she wished the Wildcats good luck.
Travis McKinnon is the sevenyear- old son of Nathan and Jennifer McKinnon. Nathan is a Littlefield Ex-Student, Class of 2003. His grandparents are alumni of Littlefield High School as well. Layne McKinnon, Class of 1977 and Renea McKinnon, Class of 1982. Travis has a younger sister, Jessa who he loves to play with. He is a second grade student at Littlefield Primary School. He has been the bat boy for the Littlefield Varsity Baseball team for the past three years. Travis says his favorite things to do are playing baseball and watching the Wildcats. His favorite teams are the Littlefield Wildcats and the Texas Longhorns. He wished the Wildcats “Good Luck.”
