Lady Cats fall to Highland Park in bi-district

Littlefield played in what Coach Desiree Shahan called one of her team’s best outing of the season Tuesday night in Canyon. Although, in the end, it wasn’t enough as the Lady Cat Volleyball team ended their season in the bidistrict round against Amarillo Highland Park. Littlefield fell in three straight sets to the Lady Hornets 25-13, 25-19 and 25-17.

Wildcats looking to devour Mules

Friday night football in Texas doesn’t get any better than this.Littlefield and Muleshoe will  renew their heated rivalry with the
‘War on 84’ game that will decide who walks away with the district 3A-1 championship. Both teams enter the contest with identical 6-3 records and spotless 4-0 district records.

Sudan beats Bovina, 43-35

Sudan ended their two-game slide in district play with a 43-35 win over Bovina Friday night at home. Barry Johnson had a monster night on the ground for Sudan, and finished with 291 yards rushing and six touchdowns. As a team, the Hornets ended the night with 365 total yard of offense.

Wildcats pound Friona, 34-0

Friona probably wished they were out trick-or-treating Friday night instead of playing Littlefield. The Wildcats dominated the Chieftains on Halloween night, en route to a 34-0 shutout win. Littlefield led 27-0 at halftime, after scoring on their first four possessions of the game.

Lfd. Lady Cats lose to Friona; bi-district playoff next week

The Littlefield Lady Cat volleyball team continued district play Friday with a match at home against Dimmitt. The Lady Cats fell to the Bobbies in three sets, 25-14, 25-13 and 25-16. Littlefield closed out their district season Tuesday night at Friona.

Lady Cats continue district play

The Littlefield Lady Cat volleyball team resumed district play Tuesday night against Tulia, and fell three sets to one. Tulia took the first and second set, 25-23 and 25-16. Littlefield responded with a 25-21 win in the third set, but fell in the final set 25-13. Lady Cat Head Coach Desiree Shahan said her team may have lost, but they played amazing.

Wildcats dismantle Dimmitt Bobcats, 42-15

The Littlefield Wildcats dominated Dimmitt Friday night, routing the Bobcats 42-15 under the bright lights of Wildcat Stadium. Littlefield moved to 3-0 in district play, and 5-3 overall with the win. The Wildcats travel to Friona next Friday night to continue district play. Against the Bobcats, Littlefield led 21-7 at halftime. The Wildcats scored on their first three possessions of the ball game.

Lady Cats win CC district title

Littlefield’s cross country ran their way to a district championship at Monday’s District 2-3A Cross Country Meet. Tiffany Alamanza placed first for the Lady Cats with a time of 12:50.20. The rest of the Littlefield team all placed in the top 20. “As a coach, we look forward to the moments when our athletes rock us to the core, all while giving us an amazing sense of pride and emotions. Yesterday, while the Lady Cats were running their distict meet in hot, humid conditions, they rocked and chilled me to the core,” said Cross Country Coach Korey Conkin. “I feel so blessed to have the privilege to coach such hard working and talented runners.”

Littlefield’s JH runs at CC meet

Littlefield’s junior high cross country team placed third overall at Monday’s district meet held at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock. Kaitlyn Edgemon placed second overall with a time of 14:03.40. Natalie Hinajosa came in 10th with a time of 14:48.30. Brooke Mitchell placed 18th with a time of 16:00.10. Jennifer Yanez placed 20th and had a time of 16:22.10.
