Littlefield falls to Slaton on the road, 46-31

The Littlefield Lady Cats’ varsity basketball team fell short on the road on Tuesday against the Slaton Tigerettes, 46-31.

With the loss, the Lady Cats fall to 4-11 overall, 1-2 in district play.

Jayci Weldon got the game started for Littlefield with a lay-up off of the inbound pass from Trinity Ayala. She drew an and-one foul on the play on Ta’Kaja Robinson; Weldon converted the free throw, making the score, 3-0.

Wildcats open district with victory over Slaton, 57-39

The Littlefield Wildcats’ varsity basketball team opened up district play on Tuesday with a road victory over the Slaton Tigers, 57-39.

With the win, the Wildcats improve to 6-9 overall, 1-0 in district play.

Daniel Stinson took a charge on Tannon Cearley to open the first quarter and the Wildcats were able to capitalize on the offensive end, as J’Shun Davis dropped in a baby hook shot from the right side, making the score, 2-0.

Lady Cats earn first district win over Bobbies, 47-22

The Littlefield Lady Cats’ varsity basketball team picked up their first district win of the season over the Dimmitt Bobbies on Friday, 47-22.

The Lady Cats improve to 4-10 overall, 1-1 in district play.

The Lady Cats came out of the gates in the first quarter strong, as Geyah Garza picked up a steal and found Daniella Solis for a lay-up, for the games’ first points.

Hornets fall in OT thriller to Ralls, 52-46

The Sudan Hornets’ varsity basketball fell in an overtime thriller to the Ralls Jackrabbits on Monday, 52-46.

Chris Schovajsa knocked down a short fall-away lay-up from the left side off of the assist by Parker Battin to open the game for Sudan.

Sudan Nettes hold off Ralls, 39-33

The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team held off the Ralls Lady Rabbits, 39-33, on Monday.

With the win, the Nettes improve to 12-3 overall on the season.

Both teams got off to a slow start in the first quarter, as Ralls was called for a five second call, failing to get the ball in bounds.

Lady Cats drop districtopener at Muleshoe, 52-21

The Littlefield Lady Cats’ varsity basketball team dropped their district-opener on the road against the Muleshoe Lady Mules on Tuesday, 52-21.

With the loss the Lady Cats fall to 0-1 in district play.

Yvonne Diaz got the game going with a lay-up for the Lady Mules, but the Lady Cats responded as Jayci Weldon scored a lay-up off of the inbound pass from Daniella Solis, tying the game, 2-2.

Hornets finish fourth at Whitharral Invitational

The Sudan Hornets’ varsity basketball team fell short in their efforts on Saturday finishing fourth overall, after falling to the Whitharral Panthers, 61-36 in the third-place game at the 33rd annual Whitharral Invitational. Chris Albus scored the games first points on a lay-up, but Ruben Rodriguez answered with a lay-up for Sudan, tying the game, 2-2, with just over seven minutes to play in the opening quarter. Albus scored back-to-back layups and then Kody Gonzales drew a block on Rodriguez, earning a trip to the free-throw line. He split the attempts as Sudan took a time out with 5:07 to play in the first quarter, trailing the Panthers, 7-2.

Nettes rally past Lady Panthers, 44-33

The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team was able to hold off the host team, Lady Panthers, 44-33, in the championship game of the 33rd annual Whitharral Invitational on Saturday. Kennedy Wood dropped in a layup off of an inbound pass to get the Lady Panthers on the board and then scored a put-back to extend their lead to, 4-0, with 5:38 to play in the opening quarter.

 

With just over five minutes to play in the first quarter, Delanie Black split a pair of free throws and then knocked down a jumper from the right wing off of the assist from Emma Herrera, cutting the lead to, 4-3, with 3:07 to play in the quarter.

Wildcats can’t complete comeback against Lamesa

The Littlefield Wildcats couldn’t complete the comeback on Tuesday as they fell at home to the Lamesa Golden Tornadoes, 75-67.

Buddy Williams got things going for Lamesa in the first quarter, scoring a put-back off of the miss by Ryan Aguilar.

Mustangs route Ralls, 100-44, at Whitharral Invitational

The Olton Mustangs’ varsity basketball team routed the Ralls Jackrabbits, 100-44, in their opener at the Whitharral Invitational on Thursday.

Nate Zamora opened the contest with a lay-up for Olton as Ralls took a time out with 6:43 to play in the opening quarter.
