Mildred Marie Tomes, 86, of Amherst, died Monday, Dec. 8, 2014 in Odessa. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, 2014 at the Amherst Church of Christ in Amherst. Burial will follow in Littlefield Memorial Park, with arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home in Littlefield. The family will receive friends at Hammons Funeral Home in Littlefield from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, 2014. C.L. FREEMAN

Funeral Services for C.L. Freeman, who died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014 in Lubbock, were held Saturday morning, Dec. 6, 2014 at Grace Chapel in Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield. Interment followed in Fairlawn Cemetery in Amherst, with arrangements under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield. C.L. Freeman was born May 3, 1928 in Marlin, Texas to Jacob Freeman and Edith Watson Freeman. C.L. married Mary Lee Lewis on Feb. 14, 1981 in Littlefield. He was a farmer. Waiting for him in Heaven was his wife of many years, Mary Lee Freeman, who died Jan. 6, 1999; his parents; and a stepdaughter, Gennifer Williams. C.L. is survived by four sons, L.C. Freeman of Arlington, Charles Freeman of Levelland, Freddie Freeman and Robert Freeman, both of Temple; five daughters, Margaret Melton of Temple, Willie Mae Robinson of Temple, Velma Gooden-Carothers of Levelland, Gaylon Brown of Ft.

L.D. REEVES, JR.

L. D. Reeves Jr., 85, of Cotton Center, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014 at University Medical Center in Lubbock. Graveside service and burial was held Saturday afternoon, Dec. 6, 2014 in Littlefield Memorial Park in Littlefield with Joel Perez officiating. Arrangements were by Hammons Funeral Home of Littlefield. Preceding him in death are two sisters, Ruth Ingram and Wanda Henson. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Reeves of Cotton Center; two sons, Wayne Reeves, and Jerry Reeves and wife, Carrie of Cotton Center; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Goldie Stanton.

JUAN “PeeWee” MADRID

Juan “PeeWee” Madrid, 72, of Littlefield died Monday, Dec. 1, 2014 in Littlefield. Funeral Mass was held Thursday afternoon, Dec. 4, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Littlefield with Father Jim McCartney officiating. Interment followed in Sacred Heart Cemetery, with arrangements by Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield. He was born March 5, 1942 in Ft. Sumner, NM to Frank and Julia Madrid. PeeWee was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Littlefield. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ricky Palamino; an infant daughter; and a sister. He is survived by three brothers, Juan Hernandez of San Antonio and John Hernandez, Jr. and Jerry Hernandez, both of Littlefield; and three sisters, Tommie Torres of Littlefield, Cleo Thompson of Garland, and Julie Martinez of Littlefield.

CARL H. McCLURE

Carl H. McClure, 83, of Canyon and formerly of Olton, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2014, in Olton. Services were held Sunday afternoon, Nov. 30, at the First Baptist Church in Olton, with Dr. Travis Hart officiating. Interment followed at Olton Cemetery, under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors of Olton. McClure was born Jan. 23, 1931, to Herman and Clara (Newton) McClure in Kiowa County, Okla. He moved to Olton in 1955 and was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church. He married Helen J. Oursbourn on Aug. 5, 1956 in Canyon. Carl worked at Olton ISD for 43 years as a teacher, coach, Junior High principal, High School principal, and counselor, before retiring in 1998. His passion was students and helping them grow into productive adults. An Olton Mustang fan for life, he served in all aspects for the Olton Baseball Association. Carl was a member of the Olton Lions Club, past president of the Olton Chamber of Commerce, and was involved with the golf program.

JUAN GARZA, JR.

Juan Garza, Jr., 60, of Olton, died Friday, Nov. 28, 2014, in Lubbock. Rosary was said Sunday, Nov. 30, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Olton. Mass was celebrated Monday afternoon, Dec. 1, 2014, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Monsignor Ben Kasteel as celebrant, and under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors of Olton. Juan was born Nov. 12, 1954, to Juan M. and Genoveva (Zamora) Garza in Olton. He retired after 32 years with PCCA and was a Catholic. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include two brothers, Adrian Garza of Olton and Henry Garza of Round Rock; and two sisters, Norma Casares of Olton and Terry Hernandez of Oklahoma City; and four nieces and four nephews. The family suggests memorials may be made to Fresenius Medical Care Dialysis Services, 3304 Olton Rd., Suite B, Plainview, TX 79072.

H.W. “BUTCH” BRADLEY

H.W. “Butch” Bradley, 70, of Spade, died Friday, Nov. 28, 2014 in Lubbock. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 2, at Crescent Park Church of Christ in Littlefield, with Todd Trusty officiating. Interment was in Littlefield Memorial Park, with arrangements under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home of Littlefield. Butch was born Dec. 5, 1943 in Amherst, to H.W. Bradley, Sr., and Billie Vern Bradley. He married Patsy Wood on Jan. 18, 1964 in Spade. He was a farmer and a Deacon and Elder at the Church of Christ in Spade, and in Littlefield for many years. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Crescent Park Church of Christ in Littlefield. Preceding him in death were his parents; a sister, Vickye McCormick; and a grandson, Tyler Garrett Willis.

MARIA SOLEDAD ROMERO

Maria Soledad Romero, 88, of Earth, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2014, in Lubbock. Services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014 at the Temple of Adoration in Earth with Pastor Angie Castillo officiating. Interment will follow at Earth Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors of Olton. Maria was born Aug. 24, 1926 in Mexico to Epifanio and Maria Ramirez Garcia. She married Atanacio Romero in 1950 in Durango, Mexico. She moved to Earth in 1979 from Juarez. She was preceded in death by her husband, Atanacio, in 2010; a son, Manuel Resendez; and a grandson. Survivors include one son, Gerardo Romero of Earth; three daughters, Lydia Resendez, Jovita Romero, and Teresa Reyes, all of Earth; and two sisters, Adella Campos of Juarez, Mexico and Caroline Basurto of Aguas Calientes, Mexico; 15 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. Viewing will be from 5 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 3 at Temple of Adoration in Earth.
