AMANDA SILVAS

Amanda Silvas, 39, of Littlefield passed away Sunday, May 19, 2018 in Lubbock. She was born March 17, 1979 in Littlefield, Texas to Daniel Ramos and Susie Silvas. Amanda graduated from Littlefield High School in 1997. She was a hard worker and was always doing odd jobs to help provide for her family. She tended to many yards in the area, and also worked at the MASA plant in Muleshoe. Amanda loved being a mom to her children. Amanda is survived by her parents, Daniel Ramos and Susie Silvas of Littlefield; her four sons, Danny Ramos, Sullivan Salas, Justice Martinez, and Noah Martinez; a daughter, Nadia Martinez; one brother, Michael Silvas of Morgan, TX; one sister, Mary ‘Mela’ Castillo of Nebraska; a grandmother, Gloria Franco of Levelland; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Ramos, Jr.; and grandparents, Cirildo Ramos and Gilbert and Amada Silvas.

RICHARD D. MOTL

Richard D. Motl, age 84, of Clovis, NM died May 11, 2018 in Clovis, NM. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2018. Burial will be on Friday, May 25, 2018, 10 am CST at the Anton Cemetery in Anton, TX. He was born on May 26, 1933 in San Angelo, TX to Frank Motl, Sr. and Emillie Batla Motl. Richard graduated from Anton High School and Texas Tech University in 1954. After college he began his career farming near Anton, TX south of Roundup. Richard married Janet Brazil of Anton, TX in 1954. Richard is preceded in death by: his brothers, Frank Motl, Jr. of Red River, NM and Cecil Motl of Anton; sisters, Violet Pittman of Bakersfield, CA and Dorothy Hooper of Anton; and nephew, Franklin Pittman of Arkansas. He is survived by: son, Blake Motl of Albuquerque, NM and daughter, Marva Motl of Albuquerque, NM; sisters, Dott Byerely of Ft. Worth, and Jaydean Peters of Corpus Christie; dear friend, Joy Williams of Clovis, NM; and 17 nephews and nieces.

JAMES RAY HYATT

James Ray Hyatt passed away May 16, 2018. He was born in Olton, Texas on December 2 1939. James Ray graduated from Olton, Tx. High School in 1958 having starred in football, basketball, track and baseball. He graduated from Texas Tech in 1962, later earning a Masters in Education in 1967. James Ray married Saundra Stout in 1964. He was a Coach and Teacher in Olton to Hale Center, Lockney, Amarillo Tascosa, Canyon and finally Lubbock Coronado. James Ray’s parents were Jim and Marguerite Hyatt, both preceding him in death along with a sister, Bobbie Jo Keller, and a son Matthew Wayne Hyatt. James Ray is survived by his wife Saundra, his son James Ryan along with his wife Tessa and son Reed, his sister Brenda “Sam” Doran, husband Brian and their children and grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to your local Alzheimer’s Support Groups or a charity of your choice.

JUANITA MOSQUEDA

Juanita Mosqueda, 78, of Olton, died Friday, May 11, 2018, in Lubbock. Rosary was said Sunday night, May 13, 2018, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Olton. Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m., Monday, May 14, 2018, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Interment followed at Olton Cemetery, with Ramage Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements. Juanita was born May 15, 1939, in Runge, Texas, to Vicente and Marcela Zamora Gonzales. She married Susano Mosqueda on Nov. 13, 1956, in Spur, Texas. In 1966, she moved to Olton and was an active member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and a member of the Guadalupanas. Juanita liked to garden, sew, cook, and bake. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Susano Mosqueda in 2013; and six brothers and sisters.

BILLY CLAUD GOEN

Billy Claud Goen, 82, died May 11, 2018 in Lubbock, Texas. Memorial service was held Monday, May 14, 2018, 11 a.m., at the 12th St. Church of Christ in Shallowater, Texas. Arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home in Littlefield, Texas. Bill was born on Aug. 1, 1935 in Anton, Texas to Claude and Jessie Pearl (Minton) Goen. He attended Anton High School, and married Francys Nadine Martin on Feb. 28 1955. Residing in Anton, then Lubbock, Bill worked in various jobs including farming, carpentry, and auto sales. Bill was preceded in death by wife of 62 years Nadine; his parents; and two brothers. He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Brady and Jenny Goen of Shallowater; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Sharon Goen of Alba; son and daughter-in-law, Scot and Deanne Goen of Lubbock; daughter and son-in-law, Dena and Dennis Dodd of Melrose, NM; 14 grandchildren, and 31 great-grandchildren. Memorial gifts may be made to Texas Boys Ranch at P.O.
