WANDA FAYE KYLE

Wanda Faye Kyle, 73, formerly of Littlefield died Sept. 24, 2017 in Elk City, OK. Services were held Saturday morning, Sept. 30, 2017 at Hammons Memorial Chapel, Hammons Funeral Home in Littlefield. Burial was in Littlefield Memorial Park. Arrangements were under the personal care of Hammons Funeral Home. Wanda was born March 11, 1944 in Eastland, to Floyd and Christine Moorehead. She worked as a waitress in restaurants all over the state and was a long time resident of Littlefield. Preceding her in death are her father, Floyd Moorehead; and her husband, Jerry Kyle. Wanda is survived by her mother, Christine Moorehead; four sons, Brett Kyle, Mike Kyle, Steve Kyle, and Randy Kyle; two daughters, Christie Kyle, and Trevia Derr; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Terrill Moorehead, and Joe Moorehead; and one sister, Katherine Sue Renfro.

DANNY JOE MASTEN

Danny Joe Masten, 70, of Amherst died Friday, Sept. 22, 2017 at Arbor Wellness Center in Littlefield. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation services were by Hammons Funeral Home in Littlefield. Danny was born Dec. 8, 1946 to W. C. and Betty Masten in Amherst. He grew up in Sudan and attended and graduated from Sudan High School. He farmed for many years in the area. Preceding him in death are his parents, W. C. and Betty Masten. He is survived by two sons, Keevan Masten and wife, Wendy of Keller, Texas, and Bradley Masten of Littlefield; a daughter, Shawnda Wood and husband, David, of Sudan; four grandchildren, Nico, Reno, Derek, and Greg; a brother, Dale Masten and wife, Tanya of Aztec, New Mexico; and two sisters, Glyna Harrison and husband, Al, of Sudan, and Gale West and husband, Gary of Highlands Ranch, Colorado.

ROSIE LEE VASEK

Rosie Lee Vasek, 95, formerly of Littlefield, died Sunday, Sept. 24, in Austin, Texas.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017 at Hammons Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017 at St. Martin Lutheran Church in Littlefield. Burial in Littlefield Memorial Park, will be arranged by Hammons Funeral Home in Littlefield.

Rosie was born Feb. 2, 1922 in Williamson County, Texas to Frank and Rosa Vrubel. She moved to the Spade area in the early 1920’s and spent the rest of her life in this area, where she raised her family.

Preceding her in death are two husbands, Waylan Hodges and Joe Vasek; two brothers, Joe Vrubel and John Vrubel; and a sister, Millie Vrubel.

GUADALUPE DURAN

Guadalupe (Tito) Duran,56 of Lubbock formerly of Littlefield, died on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017 in Lubbock after a long illness. Rosary was recited Thursday evening, Sept. 21 and mass was celebrated Friday morning, Sept. 22, 2017 both at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Littlefield with Father Brian Wood officiating. Guadalupe was born in Robstown, TX on April 12, 1961 to David and Erlinda Duran. He grew up in Earth and attended schools at Springlake-Earth. He played football for the Wolverines. He graduated in May 1980. He worked for LP&L in Lubbock for over 30 years. He loved to barbecue and spending time with family. He attended mass at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Lubbock. He is survived by his daughters Crystal Vargas of Lubbock and Alyssa Guerra of Midland and his grandchildren Allyson, Isabella and Ian. Seven brothers Martin, Samuel and Eusebio Duran of Littlefield, David Duran of Lubbock, Gerardo Duran of Plainview and Alfredo and Manuel Duran of Dallas.

In Loving Memory Of Ron O’Connor

Oct. 25, 1940 - Sept. 10, 2017 Ron “Okie” O’Connor, 76, of Littlefield, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017 in Lubbock.  He was born October 25, 1940 in Levelland, TX to L.V. and Audrey O’Connor. Memorial Services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Grace Chapel in Littlefield.   Cremation arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield. Ron married Eva Nell Glass May 6, 1961 in Levelland.  He worked for the US Postal Service for over 35 years and was the Postmaster in Littlefield. He was a member of the Lions Club, and participated for many years with the Jaycees.  He was a talented wood crafter, who built many jewelry boxes, and various furniture pieces for his family and friends.  He was a sports fan, who loved football, base- ball  and  NASCAR.    Ron  also  proudly  supported  the Wounded Warriors Project, and the Paralyzed Vets of America Foundation. He was an avid reader, and the most frequented library guest in Lamb County.

Lyndia Morrow Donnell

Lyndia Morrow Donnell, 77, of Hale Center, formerly of Littlefield, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017 in Plainview. She was born Jan. 6, 1940 in Amherst, to Leslie and Faye (Mote) Morrow. Lyndia taught school for Amherst and Littlefield, for almost 30 years. Lyndia was a member of the First Baptist Church in Littlefield, and then the First Baptist Church in Hale Center after she moved. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, and the Fun Chasers Travel Club. Lyndia liked cooking and baking, watching cooking shows and collecting recipes. She also liked to travel, and go camping. Lyndia is survived by her two daughters, Dotty Russell and husband, Lane, of Graham, and Shonda Baldridge and husband, Coltin of Hale Center; a son, Kenneth Donnell and wife, Janna of Graham; eight grandchildren, Brian Daniel, Edward Donnell, Stephen Brantley, Wesley Russell, Gracyn Baldridge, Aidan Baldridge, and Cassidy Baldridge; and five great-grandchildren.
