In Loving Memory Of Ron O’Connor

Oct. 25, 1940 - Sept. 10, 2017 Ron “Okie” O’Connor, 76, of Littlefield, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017 in Lubbock.  He was born October 25, 1940 in Levelland, TX to L.V. and Audrey O’Connor. Memorial Services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Grace Chapel in Littlefield.   Cremation arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield. Ron married Eva Nell Glass May 6, 1961 in Levelland.  He worked for the US Postal Service for over 35 years and was the Postmaster in Littlefield. He was a member of the Lions Club, and participated for many years with the Jaycees.  He was a talented wood crafter, who built many jewelry boxes, and various furniture pieces for his family and friends.  He was a sports fan, who loved football, base- ball  and  NASCAR.    Ron  also  proudly  supported  the Wounded Warriors Project, and the Paralyzed Vets of America Foundation. He was an avid reader, and the most frequented library guest in Lamb County.

Lyndia Morrow Donnell

Lyndia Morrow Donnell, 77, of Hale Center, formerly of Littlefield, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017 in Plainview. She was born Jan. 6, 1940 in Amherst, to Leslie and Faye (Mote) Morrow. Lyndia taught school for Amherst and Littlefield, for almost 30 years. Lyndia was a member of the First Baptist Church in Littlefield, and then the First Baptist Church in Hale Center after she moved. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, and the Fun Chasers Travel Club. Lyndia liked cooking and baking, watching cooking shows and collecting recipes. She also liked to travel, and go camping. Lyndia is survived by her two daughters, Dotty Russell and husband, Lane, of Graham, and Shonda Baldridge and husband, Coltin of Hale Center; a son, Kenneth Donnell and wife, Janna of Graham; eight grandchildren, Brian Daniel, Edward Donnell, Stephen Brantley, Wesley Russell, Gracyn Baldridge, Aidan Baldridge, and Cassidy Baldridge; and five great-grandchildren.

In Loving Memory Of Christine Jennings

March 26, 1930 - Sept. 11, 2017 Christine  Sorensen  Jennings of Littlefield passed away peace- fully on September 11, 2017. A graveside service, conducted by Jim Harris, will be held on Thurs- day, September 14, 2017, at 10 a.m. at  Whitharral  Cemetery,  in Whitharral, Texas.   Arrange- ments  by  Hammons  Funeral Home in Littlefield, Texas. Christine was born on March 26, 1930, to Kresten and Lucy Sorensen.  She  was  raised  on  a farm in the Hart Camp area and she knew the meaning of hard work. Christine became a nurse and worked in surgery and then for several different doctors. This career was so fitting to her strong nurturing personality. She was kind, loving, tender-hearted, and always had a cup of coffee or iced tea for guests. Christine lovingly put others ahead of herself. She enjoyed  sitting  on  the  patio  reading  her  Bible  and  watching  the birds. Christine married J Edward Jennings on July 29, 1950.

JOE DAN WARD

Joe Dan Ward, 62, of Littlefield died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017 in Littlefield. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon, from 2 to 3 p.m., at Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday, Sept. 11, 2017 at Grace Chapel at Hillcrest Funeral Home, with Tom Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Littlefield Memorial Park. Joe Dan was born Aug. 16, 1955 in Littlefield to Hoot and Bonnie Ward. Joe married Roxanne Seeman May 17, 1981 in Littlefield. He was a hard worker and an entrepreneur, starting and running several companies in the area. He owned and operated Joes Pumping Service for several years before selling to Johnson Pumping. Then he started Country Dumpsters in 1996 and ran it until 2010 before selling. Joe enjoyed camping and fishing, and liked music, especially Stevie Ray Vaughn.

DORIS JEAN WITTEN

Doris Jean Witten, 80, of Lubbock and formerly of Olton, died Sept. 4, 2017, in Lubbock. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, Sept. 8, 2017, at the First Baptist Church in Olton with Brother Kyle Streun and Brother David Azam officiating. Interment followed at Plainview Memorial Park in Plainview under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors. The family received friends at Ramage Funeral Directors in Olton Thursday evening, Sept. 7, 2017. Doris was born on Oct. 22, 1936, to Oran and Juanita (Campbell) Nichols in Big Spring, TX. In August of 1960, Doris married Larry Wayne Witten and moved to Olton, TX where she remained until she moved to Lubbock in 2014. Doris attended Wayland Baptist College and graduated from Texas Tech University in 1959. She taught school briefly before becoming a homemaker and being actively involved in raising her three children. She was a member and Sunday School/Bible study teacher at First Baptist Church in Olton.

LOIS FAYE HEARNE

Services for Lois Faye (Ingram) Hearne, 79, of Littlefield, who died Friday, Sept. 1, 2017, at Littlefield Nursing and Rehab, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at Peace Deliverance Church, 801 LFD Drive in Littlefield. McCarty Funeral Home of Littlefield is in charge of arrangements. Lois was born Aug. 22, 1938 in Winona, TX to Dessie Lee Ingram and Raymond Johnson. She grew up in Winona, but attended schools in Tyler and Spur. After moving to Littlefield in 1951, she obtained her GED and certification as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) while her daughter was in junior high school. Lois worked as a homemaker, seamstress, babysitter, CNA and co-owner of Dew Drop Inn (Jay Bird’s). Lois was a member of Irvin Street First Baptist Church. She was an active member, serving as a deaconess, choir member, church clerk, Mission and Sunday School teacher, announcing clerk, and the food committee.

SANDRA MOGG

Sandra Mogg, 69, of Plainview and formerly of Olton, died Friday, Sept. 1, 2017, in Lubbock. Memorial services were held Tuesday morning, Sept. 5, 2017, at Harvest Christian Fellowship in Plainview with Chad Word officiating. Cremation arrangements were by Ramage Funeral Directors of Olton. Sandra was born Aug. 22, 1948, in Amherst, to Lenrel and Adell (Cavett) Johnson. She worked as the MHMR Director at Tommy Lewis Industries in Plainview. She moved to Plainview in 2001 from Olton and was a member of Harvest Christian Fellowship. On April 24, 2002, she married Troy Mogg. Sandra enjoyed camping, fishing, and was a talented artist.
