PATSY McCASLAND

Patsy McCasland, 60, of Ft. Stockton, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2017. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 17, 2017 at Grace Chapel in Littlefield with Mark Yarbrough officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield. She was born Feb. 1, 1957 in Lubbock, to Doyle and Sue Newsom. Patsy married Jimmy McCasland on Sept. 23, 1976 in Plainview. Together they moved all over the world and around the United States with the Air Force. They have been in Ft. Stockton for the last nine years. Patsy is survived by her husband, Jimmy McCasland of Ft. Stockton; a daughter, Jennifer Grasso and husband, Eric of Manteca, Calif.; three sons, James McCasland and wife, Karen, of Plainview, John McCasland of Ft. Stockton, and Justin McCasland and wife, Sierra, of Ft.

MABEL DOW

Mabel Dow, 98, of formerly of Littlefield, died Nov. 11, 2017 in Arlington. Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017 at Littlefield Memorial Park, Littlefield. Mabel was born Feb. 4, 1919 in Chickashaw, Oklahoma to Marion and Vespa Cooper. Mabel is proceeded in death by her husband, Earl Dow. She is survived by her sons, Robert Dow and wife, Judy of South Lake, Texas and Jack Dow and wife, Debbie of Arlington; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

RUTH DIXON

Ruth Dixon, 79, of Spade, near Littlefield, died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017. A Memorial service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017 at the Crescent Park Church of Christ in Littlefield. Graveside Service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, at the Lorenzo Cemetery, under the care of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls. Ruth was born Oct. 6, 1938 in Pauls Valley, OK to John and Sylvia Walker Cox. She married Dwayne Dixon in Littlefield, on June 6, 2004. Ruth was a Christian woman and enjoyed crafting. She was very loving to everyone, but had a special kind of love for her grandchildren. Ruth is preceded in death by her grandson, Sye Sue; and great-grandson, Jeffrey Swanson.

RICK CARRILLO

Rick Carrillo, 56, of Anton died Nov. 11, 2017 in Lubbock. Rosary was said Tuesday evening, Nov. 14, 2017 in Hammons Memorial Chapel, Hammons Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was held Wednesday morning, Nov. 15, 2017 in Hammons Memorial Chapel. Rick was born Aug. 23, 2017 in Del Rio to Simon and Guadalupe Carrillo. Rick worked at Mrs. Baird’s/Bimbo Bakeries in Lubbock. His favorite thing to do was spending time with his family. Rick is survived by his wife, Marilyn Carrillo of Anton; four sons, Joseph Richard Carrillo, Jr. and wife, Ruth of Levelland, Paul Carrillo and wife, Victoria of Lubbock, Rene Garcia of Anton, and Ritchie Carrillo of Anton; two daughters, Mitze Carrillo of Lubbock, and Sonja Miller and husband, Doug of Elkhart, Indiana; 15 grandchildren; two brothers, Antonio Carrillo of Anton, and Eloy Carrillo of San Angelo; two sisters, Cris Martinez of Anton, and Esmeralda Carrillo of Hawaii; and numerous nieces and nephews.

MIKE E. CHESTER

Mike E. Chester, 64, of Shallowater died Nov. 8, 2017 at his home in Shallowater. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13, 2017 at 12th Street Church of Christ; 1001 12th Street; Shallowater, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Hammons Funeral Home of Littlefield. Mike E. Chester was born in Littlefield, March 20, 1953, to Albert Dan and Ima Wells Chester. He attended school both in Littlefield and Dimmit. He then joined the Army where he was honorably discharged in April 1973. Mike married Patty Brooks Chester on June 20, 1975 in Dimmit. Afterwards, he attended Amarillo College receiving his degree in heating and air conditioning. He completed his career while working for McDougal Services. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Danny.

NELL W. CALCOTE

Nell W. Calcote of New Home died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017 at the age of 88. She grew up in Littlefield and married David Calcote on Dec. 28, 1946. He preceded her in death in 2016. Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Jan Page and husband Tommy, Randy Calcote and wife Debbie, and Todd Calcote; siblings, G. White and Elois Dunlap; grandchildren, Jennie Ford, Ty Page, Emily Swanson, and Roy Calcote and their mother, Ann Calcote; and 10 great-grandchildren. Nell was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Carrie White; son, Kevin “Sam” Calcote; and three siblings, J.R., Wayne and Frances. A memorial visitation was held Thursday evening, Nov. 9, 2017 at Combest Family Funeral Homes in Lubbock. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Kindred Hospice.

WINIFRED WILLIE DYKES

Graveside service for Winifred Willie Dykes, 99, of Amherst, who died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2017 in Amherst, was held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov.3, 2017, in the Sudan Cemetery, with Elder James Baker of Amarillo, officiating. Ellis Funeral Home of Sudan was in charge of arrangements. Winifred was born July 6, 1918, in Quitique, to B.K. and Lena “McBride” Hamilton. She married Hubert W. Dykes in Littlefield on Dec. 19, 1936. Winifred was a “Forever” Sudan resident for more than 70 years. She lived in Amarillo from 2003 until 2010. Winifred was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church in Borger. She is preceded in death by her husband, Hubert; her parents; her sister, Bertha Hestland; her brother, J.T. Hamilton; and two halfbrothers, Harvey Hamilton and Kenneth Hamilton. Survivors include her two sons, Donald Dykes and his wife, Anita of Amarillo, and Scotty Dykes of Jacksonville, Florida; her halfsister, Margaret Meeks of Ft. Worth; her half-brothers, Jerry Hamilton of Weatherford, and J.W.

INEZ OGLETREE

Inez Ogletree, 98, of Olton, died Monday, Oct. 23, 2017, in Lubbock. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, at the First Baptist Church in Olton with Brother David Azam officiating. Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends at Ramage Funeral Directors in Olton from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017. Inez was born June 5, 1919, in Cloud Chief, OK, to William and Alethia (Fennell) Hackler. She moved to the Olton area in 1929. On April 20, 1937, Inez married William Malcolm Ogletree in Clovis, NM. She was a homemaker and long-time cook for the Olton Lion’s Club. A member of the First Baptist Church, Inez loved to crochet and was a talented cook. She was preceded in death by her husband, in 1988; a son, Darrell Ogletree, in 2009; and twelve brothers and sisters.
