Ollie Pearl Campbell

July 20, 1947 - April 20, 2018

Ollie Pearl (Waide) Campbell, 70, of Littlefield, Texas passed away April 20, 2018 at her home in Littlefield, Texas. Ollie was born July 20, 1947 in Littlefield, to Charlie Waide and Ruby Faye (Phillips) Waide. She married Dewayne Campbell Oc- tober 4, 1972. Ollie  was  a  nurse  for  many years at Lamb Healthcare Cen- ter. She was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Waide. She  is  survived  by  her  hus- band  of  45  years,  Dewayne Campbell; her daughter, Lanitia Talley and her husband, Dwayne of Sagerton, Texas; three grandchildren, Christopher Campbell, K’La Wilson  and  Keegean Talley;  eight  great-grandchildren;  a  sister, Patricia Waide and her husband, David Guess of Dalhart, Texas. Visitation was held Tuesday evening, April 24, 2018 at Hammons Funeral Home, Littlefield. Funeral Services were to be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 25 at Parkview Baptist Church in Littlefield. Burial was at Olton Cemetery, Olton, Texas.

RANDY CHRIS COOPER

Randy Chris Cooper, 62, of Littlefield, formerly of Grady, NM, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018 in Lubbock. Memorial Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2018, (MST), at First Baptist Church in Grady, NM, with Curtis Allen officiating. Cremation arrangements were under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield, and inurnment will be at Wheatland Cemetery at a later date. Randy was born Aug. 31, 1955 in Salina, Kansas to Harry and Rose Cooper. Randy married Carol Cox July 30, 1988 in Littlefield. They moved to Littlefield from Grady in 2002. He loved the ranch, his horses and was also a bronc rider. While in Littlefield, he worked at the Lamb County Sheriff’s Office. He was a Baptist.

LAURA JANE SEALES

Church service for Laura Jane (Marberry) Seales, 86, of Muleshoe, who died Wednesday, April 18, 2018 in Amherst, was held Saturday morning, April 21, 2018 at 16th & D Church of Christ in Muleshoe with Curtis Shelburne of Muleshoe officiating. Burial was in Muleshoe Memorial Park, with Ellis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. She was born Sept. 22, 1931 in Fort Worth, to William C. and Grace (Wheeler) Marberry. She married Don Seales in West Camp, on Sept. 19, 1948. She and her husband lived and farmed in the Baileyboro and West Camp communities. She was a member of the 16th & D Church of Christ in Muleshoe. Laura is preceded in death by her husband, Don; her parents; her sister, Myrtle Frizzell; two of her brothers, Bill Marberry and Robert Marberry; and one grandson, Britt Bentley. Laura is survived by her son, Larry D.

JEANINE THOMPSON

Jeanine (Heard) Thompson, 87, of Littlefield, died Saturday, April 21, 2018 at University Medical Center in Lubbock. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, April 24, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Littlefield. Visitation was held from 1 to 2 p.m. at MAC of First Baptist Church in Littlefield. Burial was in Littlefield Memorial Park, with arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home, of Littlefield. Jeanine was born March, 30, 1931 in Lamb County to Daniel Blanton Heard and Norene Clark Heard. She married W.W. (Bill) Thompson on June 26, 1949. Jeanine was a homemaker for many years and an avid gardener. She was also a member of the Lamb County Senior Citizens Center’s Board of Directors. Preceding her in death are her husband, W.W. (Bill) Thompson; her parents; a grandson, Kassidy Chapman; and her brothers, Kenneth and George Heard.

LILIA AMALIA ACEVEDO

Lilia Amalia Acevedo, 88, passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2018. Lilia was born in Jalap Veracruz, Mexico, on July 10, 1929. She married Juse Acevedo, Jr., in 1962. Lilia was a faithful Christian woman. In Lilia’s early years, she was a nurse, teacher in Mexico, and worked hard for many years. Lilia is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Acevedo, Jr. in March of 2003. Survivors include her daughter, Anna Roberts of Littlefield; two granddaughters, Alysa Roberts and Kristin Roberts; and five great-grandchildren, all from Littlefield. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

MODESTA “MO” MILLER

Modesta “Mo” Rodriguez Miller, 62, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018 in Las Vegas. Services will be private. Born Feb. 24, 1956, in Crystal City, Texas, to the now late Natalia and Martin Rodriguez. Modesta was married to Floyd Miller. She is survived by her daughters, Val (Jon) Muirhead and Monique (Eric) Miller; brothers, Richard, Martin, Reyes and Gilbert Rodriguez; sisters, Carmen, Victoria, Rosario, and Stella Rodriguez; grandchildren, Xia, Jordynn and Karlos Rayford; aunt, Consuelo Rodriguez; and uncle, Jesus Hernandez. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews.

DWAYNE WILKS

Dwayne Wilks, 87, of Olton, died Monday, April 16, 2018, in Lubbock. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, April 19, 2018, at the First United Methodist Church in Olton with Brother Neely Landrum officiating. Interment followed at Olton Cemetery, under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors. Dwayne was born Oct. 17, 1930, in Plainview, to Dee and Winnie (Bell) Wilks. Graduating from Olton High School in 1949, Dwayne married Jane Bond on May 27, 1950. He retired from farming in 1993 and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He volunteered at the Sandcrawl Museum in Olton. Survivors include his wife, Jane Wilks of Olton; three daughters, D’Lyle Selman of McAllen, Teresa Light and her husband, Jonathan of Olton, and Nan Neta Beck and her husband, Peter of Cedar Creek; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be made to the Olton Volunteer Ambulance Association, P.O.

CAROLINA R. BESSIRE

Carolina Rosella Bessire, 79, of Lubbock passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2018. Services were held Tuesday morning, April 17, 2018 at Parkway Drive Church of Christ. Entombment followed at the City of Lubbock Cemetery. She was born Oct. 5, 1938 in Littlefield to Alvin and Ruby (Ogerly) Lingnau. After graduating from Littlefield High School, she went on to attend Draughn’s Business College. She worked a variety of jobs for many years. Carolina married Jerry Bessire on May 9, 1965 in Lubbock. They were members of Parkway Drive Church of Christ. Survivors included her husband, Jerry; sons, Andrew Bessire and wife, Kimiko of Niantic, Connecticut and David Bessire of Plano; brothers, Alfred Lingnau and wife, Lidia and Hubert Lingnau and wife, Geraldine all of Lubbock; and grandchildren, Abigail and Zachary. She was preceded in death by her parents; two children, Charise and Stephen Bessire; and sister-in-law, Jean Lingnau.

Melissa Mae (Maynard) Bullard, 80, of Anton, Texas died Monday, April 16, 2018 at Arbor Grace Wellness Center, Littlefield, Texas. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, April 20, 2018 at First Baptist Church, Anton. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Hammons Funeral Home, Littlefield. Burial will be at Anton Cemetery. Melissa was born Dec. 4, 1937 to Gus Phillip and Elizabeth Mae Maynard in Littlefield. She married Norman Bullard on Nov. 22, 1957 in Anton. Melissa was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Norman; her grandson, Garrett; and a brother, Buddy.
