JESSIE WISEMAN

Graveside service for Jessie “Brownie” Wiseman, age 92, of Sudan, Texas was to be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Sudan Cemetery with Terry Wilson of Sudan, officiating. Jessie died Wednesday, May 9, 2018 in Sudan. She was born Feb. 16, 1926 in Needmore, Texas to Jesse R. and Lottie (McCellan) Moore. She married Weldon Wiseman in Muleshoe, Texas on March 6, 1943. Jessie was a homemaker and a member of the Sudan Church of Christ. She is preceded in death by her husband, Weldon; her daughter, Rita Ann Conley Spring; her parents; her three sisters, Elsie Damron, Mable Regal and Cherrie Willard; her brother, Edd Moore; and one grandson, Billy Miller. Jessie is survived by her daughter, Marilynn Beth Herwick of Lubbock; three grandchildren, Leanna Wilson, Michael Conley and Ronda Gray; and seven great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be sent to the New Mexico Childrens Home, 1356 NM 236, Portales, New Mexico, 88130.

JOYCE GARRISON

Joyce Elaine Garrison, 76, died May 4, 2018 in Lubbock. She was born in Memphis, Texas. She attended high school in Olton, Texas and graduated in 1960 and later graduated from Texas Tech in 1964 with an Elementary Education Major. She was a Girl Scout Leader and Lifetime membership award member of United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by parents, Hurshell Robert Curtis and LaVernia Funderburk of Olton; and a brother, Donald Ray Curtis of Mesa, AZ. Survived by children, Kerry Don Garrison and wife, Kim of Amarillo, and Jana Michelle Garrison of Lubbock; grandchildren: Kelsey Don Garrison of Amarillo, Erika Nichole Miller and Todd Alan Miller of Lubbock; great-grandchild, Jaxson Raven Mattingly of Lubbock. Graveside services were held Tuesday afternoon, May 8, 2018 at Resthaven Memorial Park.

RAMON R. HERNANDEZ

Ramon Rodriquez Hernandez, 72, of Littlefield, passed away Friday, May 4, 2018 in Lubbock. Funeral mass was held at 11 a.m., Monday, May 7, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Littlefield with Father Brian Wood officiating. Interment followed in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers Alex Garcia, Emmanuel Hernandez, Jimmy Jordan Garcia, Carlos Garcia, Felix Hernandez, Ricky Garcia. Rosary was recited Sunday evening, at the church. Arrangements were under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield. He was born Aug. 6, 1945 in Viomadre, Mexico to Ramon Hernandez and Luz Rodriquez. Ramon married Veatriz Ramirez July 6, 1989 in Levelland. He was creative and crafty, and was a talented singer. He enjoyed being outside and working in his garden. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Littlefield.

MARIA RODRIGUEZ

Maria Aurelia Rodriguez, 82, of Olton, died Wednesday, May 2, 2018, in Lubbock. Rosary was said Sunday evening, April 6, 2018, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Olton. Mass was celebrated Monday morning, April 7, 2018, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Fr. Sylvester DSouza officiating and under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors. Maria was born March 11, 1936, in Tynan, Texas, to Manuel and Paula Rodriguez. She moved to the Olton area in 1959 with her family to work in the cotton harvest. Mary worked at the Dairy Mart Café and at Dairy Queen in Olton. A member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Mary’s favorite pastime was piecing quilt tops. She also loved plants, flowers, and gardening. Maria was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Santos, Pedro, and Joe Rodriguez and a sister, Teresa Rodriguez Villarreal.

ANGELMIRA HERNANDEZ

Angelmira Hernandez, 70 passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018 in Littlefield. Services for Mrs. Hernandez were to be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Littlefield with Father Brian Wood officiating. Burial followed in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Broadway Funeral Directors. Angelmira was born Jan. 27, 2018 in Taft to Valdemiro & Santiaga Martinez. She married John Hernandez on Oct. 21, 1972 in Littlefield and worked as a seamstress for most of her life. She enjoyed coloring, knitting, baking and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, John Hernandez of Littlefield; her mother, Santiaga Martinez; two sons, John Andrew Hernandez of Plainview, Rene Hernandez of Lubbock; two daughters, Melonie Hernandez Breen of Dallas, Debbie A.
