RICHARD K. SHIPLEY

Richard Kyle Shipley, 58, of Lubbock, died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017 in Lubbock. He was born July 25, 1959 in Littlefield to Richard and Jane Shipley. Kyle graduated from Littlefield High School. He was a master electrician, working in Plainview and Amarillo for many years with Scott Co Electric. He is survived by his mom and dad, Richard and Jane Shipley of Ransom Canyon; a son, Weston Shipley of Amarillo; a daughter, Cassandra Nance of Arlington; three grandsons; a brother, Steven Shipley of Texas City; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and extended family members. Cremation arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.

DOLORES CHILDERS

Dolores Childers, 47, of Presidio, Texas, formerly of Littlefield, died July 22, 107 in Presidio. Memorial Services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, August 18, 2017 at Grace Chapel in Littlefield. Arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield. She was born Nov. 25, 1969 to Raymond and Pat Atzbach. Dolores married Chuck Childers in July of 2010. She enjoyed riding motorcycles, and baking for her family. She was a hard worker, and was very driven and dedicated. Dolores is survived by her husband, Chuck Childers of Presidio, TX; two sons, Jeff Brown of Lubbock and Brad Brown of Plainview; five grandchildren, Peyton Brown, Jeremiah Brown, Madison Brown, Conner Brown and Cayden Brown; and Charlie and Tina Brown of Littlefield. Preceding her in dearth was her daughter, Crystal Brown.

LINDA SHARON GRAHAM

Linda Sharon Truelock Graham, 76, of Lubbock, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017. Visitation was held Thursday, Aug. 10, at Combest Family Funeral Homes. Celebration of Life service was held Friday morning, Aug. 11, at Venue on Broadway, with interment in Littlefield Memorial Park, with Combest Family Funeral Homes in charge of arrangements. She was born on April 20, 1941 in Paducah to the now late R.T. and Jewel (McCain) Truelock. She graduated from Amherst High School with the class of 1959. Linda retired from the Texas State Department of Health. She was a member of the First Assembly of God, and was involved in the ministry at Raider Ranch. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, C.L. Graham; a daughter, Cassie Inge and husband, Steve; three sons, Danny Tollett and wife, Tracy; Timmy Page; and Cameron Graham and wife, Allison; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one greatgreat grandchild.

JOHN A. JEFFERIES

John A. Jefferies, 79, of Olton, died Monday, Aug. 7, 2017, in Olton. Services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, Aug. 11, 2017, at the First United Methodist Church in Olton with Brother Neely Landrum officiating. Interment was in Olton Cemetery, with Ramage Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements. The family received friends at Ramage Funeral Directors in Olton Thursday evening, Aug. 10. John was born Sept. 5, 1937, in Olton, to V.Y. and Edyth (Shipley) Jefferies. He graduated from Olton High School in 1955 and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene. John served in the United States Army and married Kay Murray on Nov. 22, 1962. He farmed for many years in the Olton area and was an avid reader. Gun collecting and gunsmithing were some of his favorite things to do. John was a talented woodworker, earning first-place ribbons from the South Plains Fair and having pieces displayed in Olton’s Sandcrawl Museum.

ROSIDALIA T. LOPEZ

Church service for Rosidalia T. Lopez, 62, of Farwell, who died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017 in Farwell, was held at 2 p.m., Monday, Aug. 7 at First Baptist Church in Earth. Burial was in Earth Memorial Cemetery, near Earth, with Ellis Funeral Home of Earth in charge of arrangements. She was born Aug. 2, 1955 in Port Lavaca, Texas to Ramon and Elida (Ramirez) Trevino. She married Juan Lopez in Abernathy, on Feb. 26, 1957. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Rene Trevino. Rosidalia is survived by her husband, Juan of Farwell; a son, Juan Lopez Jr. and wife, Gloria of Earth; two daughters: Laura Torres, and husband, Armando of Farwell, and Marisa Lopez of El Paso; four sisters; Aurora Cardenas and Angelica Plaseneio, both of Abernathy, Adela Garcia of Planview, and Renata Trevino of Abernathy; seven brothers: Ramon Trevino Jr.

SALVADOR CRUZ

Salvador Cruz, 78, of Littlefield, died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017 at his home. Memorial Services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Brian Wood officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield. Cruz was born May 3, 1939 in El Porvenir, Mexico, to Julio and Celia Cruz. Salvador married Celia Silva in June of 1969. He worked at American Cotton Growers for 30 years, before retiring. His hobbies were tending to his garden, and his fruit trees. He was a jokester, and a hard worker who had a zest for life. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother and four sisters.

Mark Alynn Claunch, 45, of Kingsland, Texas, formerly of Bula, died Friday, Aug. 4, 2017. Services will be at 3 p.m., Saturday, Aug 12, 2017 at Lone Star Cowboy Church in Lubbock, with Jerry Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in Littlefield Memorial Park in Littlefield, with arrangements under the personalcare of Hillcrest Funeral Home of Littlefield.l The family will receive friends Friday evening, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield. He was born April 27, 1972 in Littlefield, to Rodney and Scarlett Claunch. Mark graduated from Whiteface High School with the class of 1990. He was currently working for Mills Home and Commercial Services in Kingsland, for his best friend, Brad Mills.

GENE FUDGE COOK

Gene Fudge Cook, 91, of Littlefield, died Monday, July 31, 2017 at the Harmonee House in Amherst. Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug 5, 2017 in Hammons Memorial Chapel, of Hammons Funeral Home in Littlefield. Burial was in Littlefield Memorial Park, with arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home. Gene was born March 10, 1926 to Marvin and Grace Franklin in Roaring Springs, Texas. She was a long-time resident of Littlefield and worked many years in the community as a seamstress. She was a life-long member of the Church of Christ. Preceding her in death are her husband, Bill Fudge, and her husband, Fred Cook; and a son, Billy Fudge. Survivors include her son, Jerry Fudge and wife, Lori, of Littlefield; her daughter, Freeda Ensor and husband, Eddie of New Braunfels, Texas; 8 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

LUCY MARTINEZ

Lucy Martinez, 93, of Lubbock, died Monday, July 31, 2017 in Lubbock. Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Littlefield with Sergio Leal officiating. Interment was in Littlefield Cemetery. A wake was held Wednesday evening at Hillcrest Funeral Home. Arrangements were under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield. She was born May 6, 1924 in Anton Chico, New Mexico to Antonio and Henryetta Ruiz. Lucy married Alfonso Jaramillo in 1948. She enjoyed playing Bingo, going to casinos, traveling, and having coffee with friends. She liked to do embroidery and quilting. She was a member of Harvest Christian Fellowship Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Alfonso in 2016; one son, and two daughters.

VICKIE LYNN JONES

Vickie Lynn Jones, 59, of Levelland, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017 at her home in Levelland. A memorial service was to be held Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017 at 3 p.m. at the Branded, formerly Aces and Eights Clubhouse, at 701 E Muller Rd. in Levelland. Cremation arrangements were by Hammons Funeral Home of Littlefield. Born in Kimball, Neb., Vickie moved to Levelland where she worked as a cook at many restaurants in Levelland. She was an accomplished seamstress, noted craftsman, and jack of all trades. Vickie was preceded in death by her mother, Peggy Crandell and father, Schuyler Crandell of Levelland. Vickie is survived by her husband, Chris Jones of Levelland; her two sons, Joshua James Jones of Denver, Colo. and Christopher Allen Jones of Levelland; one sister, Kim Mills and husband, Mark Mills of Levelland; two brothers, Scott Allen Crandell and Gary Lee Crandell of Lubbock; and numerous nieces and nephews.
