Area Livestock Show champs auctioned

This past weekend, a total of 218 animals in six animal categories were exhibited by 4-H and FFA members from the Littlefield, Amherst and Sudan communities at the 2015 Littlefield Area Junior Livestock Show and Sale. To end the show, 104 of the animals were auctioned at the sale  Saturday afternoon.Thursday night’s show Thursday evening, the 2015

SENIOR EXHIBITORS—Exhibitors who showed their animals as the older in age 4-H and FFAmembers, were recognized prior to the auction sale Saturday afternoon. They are, in no particular order: Case Vanderlei, Rhett Butler, Justin Farr, Ashley McElroy, Reese Rogers, Colel Rodgers, Dakota Gage, Jessica Barrett, Xavier Trillo, Ubaldo Roman, Jocelyne Cardenas, Mariabelen Garcia, Marlene Gutierrez, Magdalena Roque, Fernando Villa, Celeste Montemayor, Martin Acosta and Blaine McNabb.

Champion heifers, steers and dairy heifers selected

Thursday evening, the 2015 Littlefield Area Junior Livestock Show began with judging of four heifers, eight steers, and 23 dairy heifers. The Supreme Heifer was shown by Keyton Davis of Littlefield, and the Reserve Supreme Heifer was exhibited by Garyn Bigham. Kennadi Hanlin showed the Grand Champion steer, while her sister, Kambri Hanlin showed the ReserveGrand Champion steer.

JOB SEARCH SUCCESS WORKSHOP

Attendance was small at both of Tuesday’s, and Wednesday morning’s Job Search Success Workshops with Darrell “Coach D” Andrews. The workshops were sponsored by WorkForce Solutions of the South Plains, and locally by Lowe’s Corporate Office, and Security State Bank, which provided the refreshments. The training is designed to help job seekers sell their unique skill-sets to prospective employers.

Three LHS Band students earn seats on All-State Band

ALL-STATE BAND MEMBERS—These three Littlefield High School Band members earned seats in the 2015 Association of Texas Small School Bands in competition Saturday, Jan. 10 at Idalou. On the left, Jazmine Garcia earned her second consecutive seat in the Texas All-State Band, while Sergio Savala and Freshman Clarinetist Savannah Roque also earned seats in the band

SWEARING IN CEREMONY

Judge James Mosley of Borger, was sworn in Jan. 1, 2015, as the sitting judge for the 316th Judicial District Court for Hutchinson County, and then swore Lavonna Stater in as Court Reporter for the 316th District Court.

Mills-Moore wedding vows exchanged in ceremony in Lubbock

Reagan Nicole Mills and John Edward Moore III exchanged wedding vows in a 6:30 pm ceremony Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014 at South Plains Church of Christ in Lubbock. Jeremy Smith, youth minister of Sunset Church of Christ, and the bride’s previous youth minister, performed the double-ring ceremony. Reagan is the daughter of Bret and Cindy Mills of Lubbock and the granddaughter of Pat Rideout and the late Tom Rideout of Midland, and Foy and Bettie Mills of Anton.
