4-H Club to meet Monday

Monday, Feb. 2nd, the Littlefield 4-H Club will conduct its meeting at 7 p.m. in the Lamb County Ag and Community Center. Topics being covered include upcoming contests, events, and community service opportunities. Following the business portion of the meeting, Abby Reed will be giving a presentation on Public Speaking. Members will be collecting blankets for nursing home residents.

ENJOYING WARM WINTER GET-AWAY

Members of Security State Bank’s Funchasers Travel Club enjoyed some warm weather on their recent cruise to the Eastern Caribbean. Beautiful tropical waters and temperatures were abundant as the group visited the Florida Everglades before boarding their cruise ship, The Ruby Princess, for a week-long voyage to the Bahamas, St. Maarten, and St. Thomas.

Sew Much Fun Adult Sewing Classes

There will be a planning meeting to determine what sewing projects, skills, and other concepts participants would like to learn on Friday, Jan. 30, 2015 at 12:00 noon in the Lamb County Extension Office, 100 6th Dr., Courthouse Room B-5, Littlefield.

SPC offers acting and music classes for youngsters in Feb

 
The office of Continuing and Distance Education at South Plains College is excited to announce two new courses for 
younger children now open for registration. Two theater courses, “Welcome to the Stage” and “All the World is a Stage,” will begin the week of  Feb. 2 and run through the weekof March 30. “Welcome to the Stage” is for children 6-8 years old and “All the World is a Stage” is for children 9-11 years old. Each  will provide an introduction to stage performance, vocal projection 
and pronunciation, memorization techniques and improvisational skills.

Area Livestock Show champs auctioned

This past weekend, a total of 218 animals in six animal categories were exhibited by 4-H and FFA members from the Littlefield, Amherst and Sudan communities at the 2015 Littlefield Area Junior Livestock Show and Sale. To end the show, 104 of the animals were auctioned at the sale  Saturday afternoon.Thursday night’s show Thursday evening, the 2015
Littlefield Area Junior Livestock Show began with judging of four heifers, eight steers, and 23 dairy heifers.
