Pinkert-Heinrich united in marriage at Christ the King Cathedral

Alexis “Lexi” D’Ann Pinkert and Grant Joseph Heinrich united in marriage Saturday, January 13, 2018 at two o’clock in the afternoon at Christ the King Cathedral in Lubbock with Rev. John Ohlig officiating. The bride is the daughter of Paul and Cisti Pinkert. She is the granddaughter of EJ and Bobbie Pinkert and Gayle and the late Royce Bussey.

 

The groom is the son of Eric and Margaret Heinrich. He is the grandson of Roy Lee and the late Therese Heinrich and Alice and the late Robert J. Kuehler. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an elegant, opulent A-line Oleg Cassini gown with lace design that was inspired by ornate motifs found in royal palaces.

Engagement announcement schedules April 28 wedding

 

Leslie and Sue Kerby of Muleshoe announce the engagement of their son, Gunner Kerby, to Sydney Pope, the daughter of Tracy and Paige Pope, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and formerly of Littlefield and Levelland. Gunner is a 2009 graduate of Muleshoe High School, and a graduate of Texas Tech University.

 

Sydney graduated with the 2009 Levelland High School class, and attends Texas Tech University while working on her Master’s degree in Biology. She plans to be a teacher. Gunner owns his own revegetation company, KERTEC, LLC, which was established in 2014. The couple is planning an April 28, 2018 wedding at the Land of the Hearts, Tierra Del Corazon Ranch, located 10 minutes towards New Deal, from Lubbock.

EARLY RISERS LIONS PROGRAM

Steven Farley, right, new Littlefield police officer, presented the program Tuesday morning for the Early Risers Lions Club. Expresssing his appreciation for the program is Mitch Grant, Lion Boss. Farley came to Littlefield after retiring from 22 years with the Lubbock Police Department. He is a bomb expert, and can diffuse one if needed.

 

He teaches firearms classes, to qualify people to carry a small gun. He is a member of the South Plains Regional Firearms Control, which covers 23 counties. He advised the Lions to take care when handling suspicious letters or packages. Don’t shake or bump it, isolate it and look for indicators, don’t open, smell or taste it, and treat it as suspect and call 9-1-1 immediately.

Band students compete for All-State Band

This past Saturday, fourteen Littlefield High School Band Students compete for a seat in the 2018 ATSSB Texas All State Band. Students participating advanced from their regional tryout in December. Four regions, 16 (Lubbock), 22 (El Paso), 6 (Odessa), and 1 (Amarillo), met in Levelland at the high school for this competition. The students competing were from Class 1A-Class 4A.

 

Five Wildcat Band Members earned a place in the 2018 ATSSB Texas All State Band

Area Stock Show started Thursday

The first night of the Lamb County Area Stock Show wrapped up Thursday night at the Littlefield Ag and Community Center, where the beef heifers, steers and dairy heifers were judged.

Friday, the Lamb, Goat and Swine shows were held, along with Ag Mechanics show.

RICK ZINN

RICK ZINN was inducted into membership of the Littlefled Rotary Club during the Club’s regular meeting Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018. Issuing the challenge and presenting the memberschip package and Rotary lapel pin, was Club President, Dezi Vargas, right. Rick has been attending meetings for a few weeks, and his application for membership was completed by acceptance and induction on Jan. 4, 2018.
