Lamb Healthcare Center pumpkin contest winners

FIRST-PLACE PUMPKIN AT HOSPITAL—This “Turkey Feast” pumpkin entry, done by the Lamb Healthcare Center’s Nursing Staff, received the most votes through the money it raised for the hospital’s Trunk-to-Trunk Halloween Event, set for Oct. 31. The pumpkin contest raised a total of $24.89, and all of the entries were to be on the Pumpkin Trail.

Pep community to host 72nd Thanksgiving Festival

St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Pep, will host its 72nd annual Thanksgiving Festival, on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 23, 2017 in St. Philip Neri Parish Hall.

To go to Pep from Littlefield, go about 14 miles west on FM Highway 54 to southbound FM 303, turn left (south) onto FM 303, and go about 7 miles to Pep and the church.

There, you will find the church members working to serve Pep’s famous German sausage, turkey, dressing and all the trimmings, which will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Plates for adults will cost $12, while he cost for children, age 6 and younger, will be $6. Take-out plates will be available until 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, and may be picked up in the Parish Hall for $12 each.

ROTARY YOUTH EXCHANGE

SarahLee Morris, Youth Exchange Officer, Ken Patterson and Elyn Patterson presented a program to the Rotary Club of Littlefield on Thursday talking about the Rotary Youth Exchange. Their are two types of exchange – Short Term and Long Term. Short term stays between two families. The kids are usually the same gender and around the same age, typically no school involved, three or four to six weeks in each country.

Arbor Grace Center plans activities for the holiday season

The following is a list of events that will be held by the Arbor Grace Wellness Center, located at 1241 W. Marshall Howard Blvd. Littlefield, TX, 79339.

Thanksgiving will be celebrated with Residents and families on Nov. 16th at 5 p.m.

The Arbor Grace Staff Christmas Party will be held on Dec. 14th at 2 p.m, while Christmas with residents will be Dec. 15th at 6 p.m.

White-Vavra united in double-ring ceremony

Shelby Megan White and Cody James Vavra were united in marriage on Oct. 7, 2017 during a 6 p.m. ceremony at the First United Methodist Church in Littlefield. The double-ring ceremony was performed by Gary Boles, former pastor of FUMC Littlefield.

The bride is the daughter of Greg and Melete White of Littlefield. Her grandparents are James and Nelda Blackwell of Littlefield and the late Frank and Juanita White.

The groom is the son of Pam Mills of Stephenville and James Vavra of Caldwell. His grandparents are Jerry and LaVerne Mills of Stephenville and the late James “Jim” and Bobbie Ann Vavra.
