Community-Wide Clean-up!

COMMUNITY-WIDE CLEAN-UP – Members of the Littlefield’s Girl Scout Troop 6048 asked volunteers to help them with a community-wide clean-up in Littlefield this past Saturday. The clean-up began at the Girl Scout Hut in Laguna Park and focused on different spots throughout the community.

Lfd. Elementary School kids earn free books from Barnes and Noble

SUMMER READING PROGRAM – Ashley Gutierrez’s third grade class received their free book from Barnes and Noble for completing the summer readying program. The kids had to read eight books and then write down the title, author and a sentence about the book in their book log. Barnes and Noble representative, Terry Handley came to Littlefield Elementary School Friday to hand out the kids’ free books. Emilee Boles to marry Hayden Broadhurst

Gary and Julie Boles, along with Lance and Shanda Broadhurst,  are pleased to announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Emilee Brooke Boles, and son, Hayden Luke Broadhurst.

Trisha is the daughter of Richard and Denise Clements of Pecos, Texas.

Matthew is the son of Lane and Vonda Nelson of Littlefield.

Wildcat Band students win UIL awards

Recently, twenty-two Littlefield High School Band Students left for Austin to compete in the UIL State Solo & Ensemble Contest held May 28th.

The students, who were in grades 9-12 were entered into five instrumental solos, one voice solo, and six instrumental ensembles.

SECOND GRADE BIKE WINNER

Springlake-Earth second grader, Braylee Herriage, earned the most AR points for reading at her grade level and won a brand new bike. Braylee is the daughter of James and Tami Herriage and her teacher is Jill Winders. The bicycle was donated by Farm Bureau Insurance (Kerry Winders.

YOUTH THEATER CAMP

The 2017 Youth Theater Summer Camp was held for the first time in Sudan this past week, from June 12 to 16, 2017. Participants, ranging in ages from 8 to 11, met for two hours each day and received vocal, dancing, and acting instruction. Participants included: Avery McCain, Ross McCain, and Addesyn Garcia of Littlefield; Andrew Larsen, Emma Sowder, and Teagan Miller of Sudan; and Lyla Ruiz and Kenlee Whitaker of Muleshoe. A final showcase of the week’s work was presented Friday, June 16 at the Sudan Lodge.
