A Celebration of the Life of Roy Hayes, 60, of Fort Worth, formerly of Littlefield, who died July 15, 2018, was held Saturday morning, July 28, 2018, in Divine Order International Ministries of Fort Worth. Bishop Rainey Matthews was the host. The Tree of Life Funeral Directors of Fort Worth were in charge of arrangements. He was born Oct. 10, 1957 at Mount Pleasant, Texas, to Julius and Juanita Hayes. He attended Littlefield Schools, and later went to Gary Job Corps in San Marcus to learn a special trade. At an early age, he joined the Church of The Living God in Littlefield, where he began leading songs and singing solos. After he moved to Fort Worth he worked for the Salvation Army, and at Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jeremiah Hayes; by his adoptive aunt, Hattie Taylor, who raised him; and by his parents, Julius and Juanita Hayes. He is survived by two brothers, Dwayne Hayes and wife, Jackie, of Littlefield, and Ricky Hayes of Fort Worth; two sisters: Patricia Love and husband, Fancy, and Annette Hayes-Jordan and husband, Wendell, of Tyler; and a host of nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, and friends. Bearers of the bier were Jeffery Moss, Stanley Moss, Veon Hawkins, Velester Hawkins, Ronnie Davis, and Michael Martin. Honorary Bearers were: Fancy Love, Nigel Love, Dewayne Hayes, Chuncey Taylor, Brandon Black, Jeremy Black, Ralph Davis, Dennis Evans and Dewayne Hayes, Jr.
