James Haskell Stephens, 72, of Littlefield passed away peacefully Sunday, February 25, 2018 with his family at his home in Littlefield. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2018 in Hammons Memorial Chapel, Hammons Funeral Home in Littlefield, Texas. Burial in Littlefield Memorial Park. James Haskell Stephens was born February 9, 1946 in Littlefield, TX. He was a generous, thoughtful, independent man who saw the best in everyone. He married his soulmate, Patsy Milligan on November 20, 1964. Together they had two sons, James Kelly, and Richard Kyle. He fulfilled his passion by working as a Mercedes Benz mechanic in Oklahoma City. In 1983, after relocating back to Littlefield, James was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. However, he did not let that beat him down and always had an optimistic outlook. As a selftaught woodworker he loved to build projects for his friends and family. Throughout his entire life he put the needs of others before his own. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Preceding him in death are his parents, “Hack” and Ara Stephens; and a sister, Charlotte Ammons. Survivors include his wife, Patsy Stephens of Littlefield; his sons, James Kelly Stephens of Austin, Texas and Richard Kyle Stephens of Lubbock, Texas; four grandchildren, Timothy James Stephens, Glynnis Stephens, Bryan Kyle Stephens, and Carrie Ann Stephens; a brother, Miles Stephens and wife Bonnie of Littlefield; a sister, Billie Bolding and husband Melvin of Lubbock.
