Black History program educates children


The annnual Black History Program for the Littlefield area was held Saturday night, Feb. 24, at Peace Deliverance Church, with Deacon Johnny Rosemond serving as master of ceremonies.

February was established for a time for Americans to acknowledge and celebrate the past achievements and culture of African-Americans.

Founded in 1926 as Negro History Week, by Carter G. Woodson, author, teacher and education administrator, Negro History Week became more and more populor each year.
