Hospital Board meets with commissioners

Tuesday, Board of Managers of the Lamb County Hospital held a special meeting with Lamb County Commissioners to the discuss operation of the Lamb Healthcare Center. County Judge Mike DeLoach told the board he appreciated them for hosting the commissioners, but said the reason he asked for the special meeting was because the hospital and commissioners court were in “uncharted territory.” DeLoach said he wanted to make sure as things moved forward, that the commissioners court and hospital board were on the same page, all they know or have the same information, and either have or be working on a plan of action as they move forward. “I want to say first and foremost before we get started, I’ve been a member of the commissioners court going on eight years...and there is not an employee in this county, especially department head or commissioner that want to see anything bad happen to this hospital. They would like to see it thrive. We want to see it thrive. It’s good for our county as a whole that we have this hospital here, but there is only so much the commissioner scourt can do.”
